Firefighters did execute an all out air attack on the massive flames that are ripping across the hillsides and over the mountaintops. Now, about 5,000 people from Mariposa County were told to evacuate. Governor brown has issued a state of emergency in the area. Flames have destroyed at least 8 structures. No injuries have been reported. Right now, firefighters are worried about the weather and resources as they try to push back those flames. The historic part of mariposa looks like a ghost town. Everyone has been evacuated. No power, hazy air and falling ash. Mary foster, the owner of the Mariposa Hotel inn, watched from her balcony as the flames came over the ridge. Came out last night, and theres nothing on the street. Theres no cars, theres no people. Kind of spooky its like an old ghost town. Reporter this is the busy season another tourists heading to for tourist heading to yosemite, all fosters rooms are booked but no one made it back to the hotel last night before the roads closeed. Im concerned about the people that have reservations here. I mean, i feel really bad, they cant come, they cant call, they cant get in. I have people that are have left their stuff and went out for the day and their stuff is still here and they cant come. Reporter humphrey lives across from where the fire is. Despite mandatory evacuation orders, he sat outside in his wheelchair and watched the flames. I feel safe. Im right behind the highway patrolman. My dogs my scariest part. Fire can have me but it i wont give my dog up. She deserves to live on. Reporter 2200 firefighters are working to contain the Detwiler Fire. Its grueling work. Ground crews are cutting containment lines, in some cases just yards away from raging flames. Helicopters are dropping water, an engines are posted at homes to protect them as the flames race closer. Cal fire says it is hoping for more favorable weather conditions soon. Pretty well seated in a steep area with a whole lot of fuel. , hot weather and wind, all those things combined, when they all come together in the middle of the day, the fire makes real aggressive runs uphills and the drainages. Chopper 5 is live over the scene at Willow Avenue near meekland avenue. Police say someone in a car just pulled up and opened fire on the man. So far, there is no word on the victims name or why he may have been targeted. We did just learn the baby in that stroller was not hurt. Authorities are now trying to find the babys other family members. New at 5 00, six members of a richmondbased street gang now behind bars accused of Violent Crimes like murder, robbery across the bay area and beyond. Reporter today the fbi and Richmond Police announced the names of these suspects, four behind bars, two still at large, linked to a violent criminal network called the manor boys. Their crimes include murder and the conspiracy to commit murder, Human Trafficking involving the sex trade, robbery to include Home Invasion takeovers, firearms assault to include shooting at people, automobiles and inhabited dwellings. Reporter operation Crescent Moon and operation big house formed to get this violent street gang off the streets. Heres some of the evidence seized, cash, drugs and firearms. The manor boys Violent Crime spree dating back to july of 2016 to the most recent may of this year, the murder of a Discovery Bay woman alexandria switzer killed in richmond. A 15yearold was arrested this week in connection with her murder. And 21yearold terry watts is still at large with an arrest warrant out for murder. This task force is designed to identify and dismantle violent gangs across the bay area. Police are investigating a smashandgrab robbery at a Jewelry Store in antioch. The thieves entered the Jewelry Store at the somersville Towne Centre Mall about 11 30 this morning. The four suspects used metal tools to break the glass cases and then ran off with the jewelry. The employee was also pepper sprayed during the robbery. Reporter john tang says it happened when san jose water changed billing methods from a pay in advance system to a pay in arrears plan. He says the Water Company has the right to bill in advance. But a san jose Consumer Watchdog Group says the company should have skipped a big cycle so customers wouldnt have to pay twice bush a billing cycle so customers wouldnt have to pay twice. They should changed to a pro rated system that is more accurate. Im living pay check to paycheck. Reporter gary came in person to pay. He says the Company Never mentioned the problem. If they are going to overcharge us, then they should let us know and reimburse us. The upperlevel winds have carried some of the smoke from the Detwiler Fire from california all the way to boise, idaho some of that smoke is being carried from 500 miles by the upperlevel winds pushing it from the southwest to the northeast. Same southwest flow here over the bay area is keeping temperatures in check, not too hot outside, although we have one 90 in santa rosa. Sonoma County Airport checking in at 90, hotter than concord, which is 89. Livermore 83. San jose 77. Oakland 71. And San Francisco 66 degrees. For the month of july San Francisco is almost near average but the trivalley is four degrees above average. Has to a big difference. Vallejo 56. Low cloud cover will work farther inland. But overnight lows will stay where they have been which is well within the range of comfort. So here are the southwest winds wrapping around a big strong ridge of High Pressure centered over southern california. And a building area of low pressure will bring a couple of rain showers toward portland and seattle over the next 24 hours. Right in between, thats a good place to be. We have enough of the onshore flow to prevent things from getting too hot but not so much that were cloudy and chilly. The june gloom which wasnt present in june nor will it be present for the next couple of days. That said that stronger onshore flow tonight will push the clouds into the trivalley into San Francisco bay and they will likely last a little longer tomorrow so the clouds burning off a little bit later, but yielding once again another fantastic afternoon with temperatures close to average. Then on friday, the cloud cover returns, hayward, castro valley, livermore, staying mainly cloudy in the morning, but sunshine and comfortable temperatures in the afternoon. The only change you may notice for the next seven days when it comes to weather is this weekend. Saturday and sunday the ridge just gets closer and away from the water, temperatures will climb about 5 or 6 degrees into the low to mid90s. So slightly warmer but not hot this weekend.
