Well show you how that money was spent and you decide. For a worldrenowned university system, the math doesnt add up. Ucberkeley chancellor Nicholas Dirks misused 4,990 of university funds. But the investigation to discover the sum cost 10 times that. For a grand total of 57,671. Thats according to the daily californian. We wanted to talk to someone from the uc office of the president so this morning, we called and we emailed for an interview. We have not gotten a response. The investigation revealed dirks used the money for a personal trainer and campus gym membership over two years. He also had a campus fitness machine at home. After dirks resigned it was discovered in april of last year. Heres where that 57k went. According to the daily californian, the office of the president paid the l. A. Firm Public Interest investigations, incorporated to look into the matter. At a rate of 200 an hour, for 279 billable hours. It also paid for the firms president to fly from l. A. To oakland three times and while it was always on southwest, each ticket never cost less than 400. His lyft rides, restaurant bills and hotel rooms were also picked up by the office of the president. Woods was pulled over early yesterday morning not far from his home in jupiter, florida. He was found slumped over the wheel and officers who woke him up say he had slow and slurred speech. The 41yearold golfer apologized saying woods was in jail for about 4 hours before he was released. His arraignment is scheduled for july 5. A Cleveland Police officer has been fired and another suspended in connection with the shooting death of a 12year old boy in 2014. Then rookie Patrol OfficerTimothy Lohman fired a fatal shot that killed 12yearold tamir rice. Lohman was fired for inaccuracies on his job application. Officer frank garbage back who for 10 days. A Staffing Shortage has the San Francisco sheriff ordering mandatory overtime for all 840 sworn deputies in the department. They are now required to work an extra 12 hours for each pay period or every two weeks. Sheriff hennessy calls it fair share overtime. She has more than 70 jobs to fill but says thats tough thanks to a lengthy application and hiring process. My Supervisory Staff is usually up until the fair share working every day just to find people to fill holes. Thats it. They are not supervising the way they should. The sheriff hopes to fill 40 of those jobs by the end of the year and hopes the overtime policy will only be in place through september. She says the union has filed a number of grievances about it. The reason why people get divorced as seniors are pretty much the same reason as they get when they get divorced earlier. Theres no relationship. They are lonely in their relationship. Reporter dr. Francis rappaport is a psychotherapist for seniors and says a lot has changed since the greatest generation when people would tough out a bad marriage. She says baby boomers especially women feel empowered to make their own life decisions. Divorce is no longer as hasnt got the stigma it used to have. Reporter now a Pew Research Study shows the number of people over 50 getting divorced has doubled since 1990. And while the survey says senior women feel free to choose divorce to get out of an unhappy marriage, it doesnt usually work that way. I have never seen it where its the woman thats walked out. Reporter Financial Planners say divorce near or during retirement can be disastrous for most women. They are not going to get child support. Theyre probably going to have to sell the house. And, um, there goes half of the 401 k and whatever and, you know, yeah, they are in a pickle. Reporter dr. Rappaport says while its good that people dont just have to live in an up happy marriage in an unhappy marriage other than, its sad in a way that people dont persevere. Reporter john ramos, kpix 5.
