Now lets gate back to the violent protests that erupted in berkeley. Police literally drawing a line down the city center in berkeley. It went from a protest to an allout fight. Reporter the protestors, demonstrators mostly are gone now. So downtown berkeley, Civic Center Park back to normal as we speak. It was a long rough day. There were so many fights, so many bloody faces, we lost count. And it was very dangerous, violent and chaotic. Before the m80s, the fist fights and the rocks, there was actually a bit of order. Berkeley police came in with a strategy. They confiscated weapons and formed a line between Trump Supporters and antitrump protestors. That worked for the first hour. Shortly after, people jumped over the police line to fight each other. This trump supporter was the First Casualty of the day with bloodstreaming out of his face. They want to hit me with brass knuckles on a blind side. Were here for free speech. Hit me twice, once while i was getting up. Its sad. Reporter more fights broke out in front of officers at Civic Center Park. Police made arrests. But the Police Strategy stopped working after the supporters and protestors left the park to fight on the street. Officers were outnumbered. They had to watch the fights from a distance. The dualing rallies grew to a large crowd of roughly 1,000 to 1500 people. There were fights all over the place. You okay . Ill be okay. What happened . I got pepper sprayed and hit with a bunch of sticks. Reporter aside from fighting, people threw m80s, rocks and bottles at each other. Some of the peaceful demonstrators left fearing for their own safety. Theres a difference between free speech and free action this. Is turning to action. Reporter from my observation, a lot of these folks came here to fight, they didnt come here for constructive conversations between the two groups. That resulted in the many fights we saw out here. Berkeley police say early her afternoon they arrested about 15 people. You say people came there to fight and you base that on simple observation. Who came to fight . Was it Trump Supporters and trump protestors . Was it both . Reporter you know, both sides are pointing the finger at the other side, basically. But i can tell you from observation, both sides had instigators. They were saying it was the other side starting to beat us up and we defended ourselves. But a lot of the fights we saw, there were instigators coming from both sides. And of course it got to become very dangerous covering this event too. We have three photographers and myself as well. Some of us had to put on a helmet to make sure we didnt get hit by the rocks or the cans or bottles that were being throne and some of the folks, aside from weapons, check out what they brought with them. Dozens of eggs. These eggs were confiscated and they couldnt bring them in. We got a hold of these eggs. A lot of these folks, they didnt come here for constructive conversation learning process. Trump supporters and antitrump protestors got into it at Civic Center Park. 10 people were arrested then. Officers confiscated a variety of weapons including metal pipes, bats and a bag of bricks. Heres a look at some of the banned items police confiscated in the park today. There was a large folding knife. Were continuing to keep a close eye on the situation in bergly. In San Francisco, people marched to demand President Trump release his tax returns. They gathered in Civic Center Plaza this afternoon and walked down market street. A giant balloon was on display showing a likeness of the president as a chicken. Demonstrators say mr. Trumps unwillingness to release his returns raises questions about his decisions in office. How does that compromise us as a nation . How does it compromise our democracy . Who is he making decisions for . Us as a people or the similar protests helped elsewhere in the bay area. About 45 minutes ago, south creeds north korea tried to launch a missile today, but the launch appeared to end in failure. Its not clear yet what kind of missile it was. North korea has been threatening just such a launch and it comes after the country its military on full display. The north showed off an Intercontinental Missile that can be launched by land or sea.
