And after hours of uncertainty, the builder said they secured the problem. Its very unusual and it seems based on what i have been told so far to be an equipment failure that nobody really was able to predict. Reporter today, the San Francisco Building Department wants more from the developer, hines. Building inspectors issued this violation. The Department Says a climbing machine failed causing the platform to tilt. This violation requires engineers to stabilize the rooftop structure and submit a report detailing all the repairs and until the company does, it wont be able to resume construction on the high rise. What they were going to do today is actually remove that timing machine, go back and restore the alignment of the floor, and then they will rebuild the machine to complete the job. Reporter the department of Building Inspections says this is the first violation for the builders at the tehama street development. Up to Lake Oroville where the water level is now 32 feet below the damaged emergency spillway. The department of Water Resources started reducing the outflow. Meanwhile, crews are working around the clock to finish repairs before the next round of rain. And they are using cranes and barges to remove debris and sediment from the diversion pool. The goal is to restore the normal flow of water. Now, while crews are making progress, fema and the National Guard are on standby in case the spillway fails. We do stand ready that, if necessary, well be prepared to surge resources in for whatever the public needs and in order to ensure that everyone is safe. Reporter caltrans has their hands full with a series of road closures so lets start in Scotts Valley where a massive mudslide on highway 17 last week is still affecting the commute. The highway is down to one lane in each direction between vine hill road and sugarloaf road and this caused up to twohour delays in the area on northbound 17 headed up towards san jose. Also, take a look at this amazing sky drone 5 video of highway 35. You can see a huge chunk of that roadway has given way and caltrans still coming up with a repair plan. Okay. Moving over now to highway 37 in novato, this is still closed between atherton avenue and highway 101 after major flooding in the area. Crews are doing emergency repairs now to prevent future flood damage. Westbound 37 traffic divert off at atherton avenue to give commuters a direct route back on to 101 and highway 1 is closed in multiple sections in the north bay.
