They are reopening the case into her criminal and illegal conduct that threatens the security of the United States of america. Reporter after her News Conference clinton said she is confident she will be cleared of criminal wrongdoing again. The latest National Poll shows clinton maintains a short lead over trump. The email issue has been dogging Hillary Clinton for more than 18 months now. The private server was established when she took office in january of 2009. But the public didnt find out about it until march of2015, two years after she left. Clinton apologized for what she alleges is a mistake and later said she never sent or received any classified material. The fbi interviewed and cleared clinton this past july. Now, word of the new investigation sent stocks off a cliff the dow tumbled by more than 160 points the news broke. It gained back most of that ground by the end of the day. But the nasdaq lost 25 points. And the s p 500 gave back 6. Here in the bay area, the big story today was the weather. A bit of a break in the rain right now. But the dark clouds have been hanging around all day and there is more wet weather on tap for the weekend. Lets get right over to kpix 5s chief meteorologist paul deanno to begin our storm watch coverage. One storm is finished. We are getting a break right now. But hidef Doppler Radar will be active for part, not all, but part of the weekend showing more rain moving in. Now in the wake of the storm that gave us all widespread rainfall earlier today, we are still seeing a few scattered showers for those of you in the north bay, sonoma, napa and solano counties up highway 29, yountville, saint helena a few showers. This is a twohour time lapse. Mainly its napa county east toward Lake Berryessa where we are seeing showers no. Rainfall totals have been good. This is a thumbsup. Mind you, this is october and these totals would be find for december, january or february storms. Santa rosa got 1. 5 of rain between yesterday and today. Livermore more than one inch of rainfall. Thats your average for the whole month of october. San jose and concord nearly an inch of rainfall. San francisco almost there. And hayward. 58. Now, this weekend we are talking about additional rainfall here but bonus, we are talking about snowfall. The snow level will be 6,000 feet beginning saturday night. There is a winter storm watch up for the sierra foothills. The western slopes of the sierra receiving up to 24 inches of snow, two feet of new snowfall. Now, lets talk about that rain a little bit more. That rainfall is making it into our numerous bay area reservoirs. Kpix 5 reporter len ramirez is at a percolation pond in san jose and its looking good, len. Reporter it is looking pretty good, no doubt about it. We are off to a good start this year. But the fact, we got so much rain last year that it really boosted the reservoir levels and that lasted us practically all summer long so were starting this rainy season with a head start. [ sound of water trickling ] reporter the sound of Running Water in the hills. Its flowing again working its way into ponds and reservoirs to be captured and saved. This time last year, dirt, it was just a bunch of dirt out here. It was dry. Reporter the valley Water District is talking about this large percolation pond. Its used to refill underground aquifers. Its already brimming and a welcome Wildlife Habitat after just the first storms of the season. We are starting off with some rainstorms and thats great news but we are not out of the drought. We have had prior to last year four years of very low precipitation. And we cant expect to make up for it with just one or two normal rain seasons. Reporter it may not be over but Santa Clara Countys reservoirs are up to 80 of their historical average 10 more today than the same time last year. And underground aquifers are no longer in critical condition. So its not quite at normal level but we are getting close. Reporter these people have been Mountain Biking around lexington reservoir near los gatos. Its been a few years since we started off with water this level. Reporter they have watched the water go up and down over the years and like what they are seeing now. We are happy the rains are coming in. Reporter Something Else to like is the easing of water restrictions. We started out last year with a mandatory 30 cutback. Here in Santa Clara County now down to 20 this year. Live in san jose, len ramirez, kpix 5. The chp says wet roads and unsafe speeds were to blame for a big rig crash on the bay bridge that tied up traffic for hours. A big rig jackknifed on the lower deck hitting a wall and leaking diesel fuel all over the road around 5 00 this morning. It happened near the first street onramp. Traffic was diverted and the streets were gridlocked for hours. Crews towed the truck away, then laid down sand and swept it away to clean up the fuel. The driver was taken to the hospital. And a fiery scene on highway 92 east of 101 in san mateo. A flatbed truck went up in flames at around 10 30. A viewer captured this video just as the fire was engulfing the cab of the truck. Heres what the aftermath looked like from chopper 5. Cars are backed up for miles on the eastbound side. Its not clear what sparked the fire. No one was injured. Some dramatic video from a near disaster at ohare in chicago. A plane caught fire as pilots tried to abort a takeoff. Passengers and crew, 170 people in all, went down the emergency slides and then hurried away from that burning aircraft. 8 people had minor injuries and went to the hospital. Investigators from the ntsb are heading to the scene tonight. And new at 5 00 a fedex jet exploded late today in fort lauderdale. It was coming in from memphis when the landing gear collapsed causing a smoky fire. Then as it sat on the runway, large flames suddenly shot out from the aircraft. Both pilots got out. Its not clear if they were hurt. An ntsb team is trying to figure out why a plane carrying republican vicepresident ial candidate mike pence overshot a runway in new york. The 737 made a rough landing last night in heavy rain at laguardia airport. It skidded into an area designed to stop speeding planes at the end of the runway. Everyone got off the aircraft safely. Now investigators are examining flight data recorders and physical evidence to try to piece together what happened. We will use the physical evidence, flight data recorder analysis, and the aircraft performance to try to determine precisely where that aircraft touched down on the runway. 48 people were on board including mike pence, secret service, crew and journalists. Reporter your Internet Provider will now have to get your consent before sharing information like your location, web browsing history, app usage, or other things you do and say online. This is establishing very clearly what consumers rights are in terms of their information and what companies are allowed to use. Reporter critics like the direct Marketing Association say the move is bad for consumers and the u. S. Economy. And it is important to note that the new rules only apply to Internet Providers. Not other tech giants like facebook and google which are regulated by the federal trade commission. Social media and Search Engines can and may still collect and cash in on your information without your consent. Now, the new rules take effect next year. They also require that Internet Companies inform you of what types of information they collect and share. Santa claras mayor is hitting the 49ers accusing the team of not cooperating with an audit of operations at levis stadium. The key question is whether taxpayer money is being used to help stage events at the stadium for things like police and firefighters. That violators a voterapproved measure.
