Fire from our chopper 5 camera. You can see big white smoke still billowing into the air. The burn zone is actually increased overnight and now covers more than 3800 acres up from 2800 yesterday. Kpix 5s keit do joins us from the spot where flames destroyed a house. Kiet. Reporter yeah. Were live here on Loma Chiquita road in the heart of the burn area where most of the structures were lost. One home was burned. Six outbuildings were destroyed. One of those structures is right in between those trees there. If you look closely, nothing but a chimney and the foundation are left on that structure. And if you look to the right here you see just how smoky everything is out here. You can hear some of the helicopters making drops. You can hear them but you cant see them. Thats how difficult the conditions out here are on day 4. Reporter some homes were lucky. Others not so. This home was tucked away next to a hillside on Loma Chiquita road. The car, the front door, the bathtub, mattress, treadmill, all gone. Day 4 of the loma fire is all about a stubborn inversion layer trapping thick smoke in the valleys. As if conditions were miserable enough firefighters are chasing down hot spots while breathing in smoke. Pilots are practically flying blind towards the flames to make water drops. They go in there with a hope and a prayer. Yes, they do. Hopes and prayers and lots of good instruments and training. Reporter the good news . The fire is burning deep inside the perimeter away from containment lines. Do you feel like youre getting a handle on this fire now . We do. You know, were cautiously optimistic every day. Back here live i want to show you something here on Loma Chiquita road. Power poles have been burned and damaged up and down the street. Pg e crews have been out here trying to repair these lines cutting them with chainsaws and replacing some of the transformers and hardware out here. They call this moonscape and you can see why. The area thats been burned right down to the dirt. I can tell from you past experience that once we get the next big rainfall, mud slides and erosion is going to be a huge mess and a big problem out here this winter. Were also hearing some at t customers who never had a yahoo account at all may have also been compromised. When art heard about the massive data breach he tried to change his password. A week later he still is trying. It wouldnt allow me to do it. Reporter like many, arts yahoo email is merged with his at t account, an option that at t offered as a convenience thats not so convenient right now. I could change the at t password. But it turned out that that did not affect the yahoo password. For people not to be able to change their passwords right away is dangerous. Reporter as cnet says, art isnt the only at t customer struggling to change it. And even senators. Some people might have yahoo mail accounts and not realize it. Reporter customers with at t or sbc global email addresses may be affected. When they set up at t accounts with other services, they had the option to create an email account that was running through a yahoo server. Reporter that option dates back to a 15yearold partnership between at t and yahoo and that may leave some at t customers with a false sense of security their password is safe. In a statement, at t says, yahoo is notifying all of our potentially affected customers but we are taking the extra step of sending an additional reminder to those customers who to change their passwords.
