The Law Enforcement community gathered for the second time this week to remember a sheriffs officer killed in the line of duty. Thousands of officers lined the streets paying their respects to detective michael davis. They filled Adventure Christian Church in roseville for his memorial service. Davis was shot during a six hour rampage by a utah woman and her husband last month. Placer county Sheriffs Department has been overwhelmed by the support. Outpouring over the last 11 days is uncanny. We had no idea even in the smallest of ways people want to support us by buying coffee. People from across the United States to send one man sent 10,000 directly to the family. Davis leaves behind a wife two daughters and two step children. He was the second deputy killed in the rampage. Services for Deputy Danny Oliver were held yesterday. The ceo of a fremont Real Estate Company has been arrested in connection with a death of a worker. The arrest comes almost three years after raoul mercado was crashed when a wall collapsed on him at a construction sea. The ceo was taken into custody at sfo. He lives in china. Court records say he admitted to shooting perla avina road ring in the passenger seat of her husband case riding in the passenger seat of her husbands car. Police are not releasing details. Months of ads and campaigning come down to this. Theres about 3 hours left before polls close. San Francisco City hall is one of the busiest polling place. But its not like this everywhere. Voter turnout is extremely low. Some predictions had only 46 of registered voters casting ballots. That would be a record low for a general election. Voters in Contra Costa County ran into some trouble this morning. The election website crashed just after the polls opened so voters werent able to look up their polling locations. The website is back up and running. With 15 candidates and rank Choice Voting it could be days before we know the results of the oakland mayoral race. Kpix 5s Christin Ayers talked to the candidates about the future of oakland. Reporter there are all talking about voter turnout today. That is of course an issue in this race, as well. So far about 120 people have shown up at this precinct in chinatown to vote. You can also see people have dropped off their ballots. They are all locked in this box here about 100 people dropping off their ballots here today. Talking to the candidates today, they definitely sounded a confident note about whether their supporters would show up. We caught up with mayor jean quan today. Campaigning out today, she is known as a tireless campaigner, has a great reputation that way. Today she was out shaking hands and trying to get out the vote. She told us she believes poll numbers that have shown her trailing in the race are not taking into account some of her most ardent supporters especially voters who speak other languages. A unique identifying code attached to all your web traffic enabling them to track everything you do and share it with third parties like advertisers and even the nsa. Verizon said it began tracking 106 million of its nonbusiness or government customers back in 2012. And while the carrier says it did send notices offering an opt out of its targeted advertising program, those who did opt out still have super cookies attached to their web traffic. Verizon says they just dont sell their behavioral profiles to advertisers. Now, at t says its use of super cookies is still in the testing phase and consumer profiles are not used yet for targeted advertising but cnet warns super cookies could become the new norm. Just because at t and verizon are the only ones that we have confirmed are doing it now doesnt mean that other mobile Service Provides arent going to be doing it in the future or perhaps they are even doing it now and we just dont know that. This is unfortunately a very murky gray area and there arent a lot of legal Consumer Protections out there for it.
