Reporter aside from more cops and increased patrols, Palo Alto Police say they put nonpriority cases on hold and assigned all available investigators to catch two men who have terrorized this community. The victims tell police the white man in his 30s or 40s was dressed professionally with a buttondown shirt and dress pants driving a white newer model bmw. Im really shocked that it would happen in such a nice neighborhood. Reporter investigators say on monday and tuesday, the man in this sketch also exposed himself to two girls just 14 and 10 years old. Police say this man is also white, but younger and drives a different car. They get some sort of satisfaction from it. Its its sometimes possible that they could take it to another level. Reporter and the case that happened this morning in belmont, police say it happened in front of a petes coffee. Before the two women could write down the license plate number, the man drove off. Live in palo alto, im da lin, kpix 5. New details are emerging on how a San Francisco woman was stalked repeatedly before finally being shot by an estranged boyfriend. Police were called to the couples natomas street apartment around 5 a. M. This morning. Officers say a man shot his girlfriend, then shot and killed himself. The two had multiple runins last night and police were called to that apartment twice. The man was eventually arrested for public intoxication. He was released from jail early this morning. Thats when police say he forced his way back into the apartment and opened fire. The male is the suspect. After he shot the female victim, he imposed a self inflicted gunshot wound and died at the scene. The woman is at San Francisco general in critical condition. A squadron of cal fire planes is back in service fighting wildfires across the state. Veronica de la cruz is in the newsroom with safety restrictions being lifted days after a deadly crash. Veronica. Reporter liz, a veteran san jose pilot lost his life tuesday fighting a wildfire in yosemite. Today his body was brought home. Jeffrey craig hunt was killed when the air tanker he was piloting crashed into a canyon wall. An honor guard escorted his body back to san jose this afternoon. Family members and fellow firemen were on hand for a brief ceremony. Funeral arrangements are still being finalized. Meantime, investigators had a chance to study the crash site and based on what they saw, they are putting other cal fire planes back into service. Our comfortable at this point to say that we do not see anything that leads us to any mechanicalrelated issues with the accident sequence. Hunt was making his second drop of the day and did not make any radio calls before the crash. The final results from the investigation could take months. And as that unfolds, planes and cal fire pilots will be back in the air. At the peak of fire season you can see the fire activity we have, these are firefighters and they want to get back into it and so we need to be sure theyre comfortable they are ready and put them out there quickly. A warning for bicyclists tonight after a couple of brutal attacks in San Francisco. Over the past two weeks, two people have been hit over the head while they were biking through the panhandle. Both attacks occurred at night and in both cases the victims had their bikes stolen after they were knocked to the ground. Generally, yeah, the bike thefts occur when the bike has been left by its you know left and locked up. So this is definitely something, you know, a little bit out of the ordinary.
