Meantime, congressman swalwell is calling for more accountability after this incident goes away. Marilyn hartman, youve seen her before. Yeah. She is a familiar face at bay area airports and is known as a serial stowaway. She has tried six times to board flights at sfo starting with her first offense on february 20th. Hartman has been prosecuted for four of those attempts, one time she even got through security with a fake boarding pass. And authorities tell us she still may not even serve jail time. She was referred to the Pathways Program earlier this year and they did an assessment. She was actually participating in that program for a while and then she walked away from it. According to the district attorney, they have done everything they can think of to prevent this woman from reoffending and because she doesnt have a criminal record, they dont want to send her to jail and take up space. It was a smashandgrab at a pitch and putt. Burglars broke into a golf pro shop in oakland and stole clubs and bags. Our ryan takeo talked to the owner, who says there was something very familiar about the truck used to slam into the shop. Ryan . Reporter hi, liz. Theres still quite a mess here. Right here are the skidmarks from the getaway pickup truck, this planter is in shambles, and right here they were able to board up the doors that the pickup truck reversed through. The owner says Surveillance Video shows the pickup truck backing into these doors and that pickup had a city of oakland logo on it. These pictures show the damage. The mess left behind. The owner of oaklands Montclair Golf Course said someone backed up a pickup truck through his front doors and then took dozens of golf clubs. The owner, who asked us not to show his face, says he was shocked when he got a close look at the truck. It was a city of oakland truck. Reporter kpix 5 has learned its a parks and rec maintenance truck that was stolen overnight. Not only that. Somehow the crooks got their hands on a cityissued key to open the locked gate not golf course. Oh, are you kidding city in . Totally bothers me. Reporter but what bothers the owner more, he says his bay alarm system didnt go off when the burglars hit around 4 a. M. So they came back a second time about an hour and a half later. It was bolt the down so the burglars left with more golf clubs. Besides the cleanup and the plywood, this par 3 course and driving range tried to get back to normal today. But piling on to the pile of shattered glass was the anger the alarm didnt activate the first time. We would have had a smaller loss had the alarm system worked properly. Reporter they are calling it one of the largest breaches in history. But it was actually a series of breaches of more than 400,000 websites ranging from fortune 500 companies to small internet sites. Hold security says it identified a russian gang that amassed more than a billion stolen internet credentials over the past few months. But instead of immediately notifying the companies affected, it reportedly offered to tell them for, quote, as low as 120 a month. So one of the best practices in industry is information sharing. Reporter this man from voltage security says its ray for a security not to disclose the businesses affected when discovering a breach. He says this advisory to the Financial Services industry indicates this breach could have impacted as many as 40 of Internet Users worldwide. Its important for the consumers to Pay Attention to this. Reporter bauer says the latest breach demonstrates the importance of using unique passwords for each account. But many say the idea of using passwords at all is antiquated. Why are we still using passwords when theres Better Technology . Passwords are convenient and inexpensive. And they are actually proven as well. Reporter he says problems arise when people use the same password on multiple sites because one is compromised and it exposes the others. And while many point to biometric security as a better option, like the fingerprint access on iphones, in addition to expense, bauer says biometrics comes with its own set of concerns. If you have your password compromised, then you can change that. If you have your fingerprint compromised, or the information related to it, its very hard to change that. Reporter now, the company that discovered the breach has removed its offer of 120 to inform those affected. But it Wont Disclose those victims publicly because it says some sites are still vulnerable.
