There are more than 700 people on death row but only 13 inmates have been executed. The last execution was Clarence Allen in 2006. The Death Penalty has been in legal limbo ever since. The woman accused of killing a google executive on his yacht in santa cruz claims she is not guilty of the charges against her. Alix tichelmans appearance in court today was a far cry from last week where we saw her dish shelved hair, heavy makeup, red lipstick. Today she cleaned up her look. No makeup and combed hair. Tichelman pleaded not guilty to manslaughter as well as drug and prostitution charges. A judge denied the request to lower her bail from 1. 5 million. Tichelman is accused of injecting 51yearold Forrest Hayes with heroin last year leaving him to die. Her attorneys say he didnt intend to kill hayes. He was a lucrative source of income to her. She appreciated his generosity and she had a motive, if any to elongate not end the relationship. If convicted of all charges, tichelman could face 15 years in prison. Final arguments today in the showdown between a Silicon Valley billionaire and surfers who wanted access to a beach. Its a battle over Martins Beach near half moon bay.
