And the department is developing a new Standard Operating Procedure to avoid secondary strikes that they hope will become the nationwide norm it, but admit there are no guarantees. We cant present completely secondary strikes, but we can definitely take action to try and limit the secondary strikes that may occur. They claim carmax is putting your safety at risk. ,, nations largest used car dealer. Nearly a dozen consumer groups are asking the federal government to investigate the nations largest used car dealer. They claim carmax socalled rigorous inspection process isnt as rigorous as consumers might think. Carmax which has Stores Nationwide sold more than half a million used cars in the past year. But safety groups say carmax fails to fix cars that have been recalled. Even though its ad claimed the cars have undergone a rigorous quality inspection. Consumers union center for auto safety and consumers for Auto Reliability says carmax is failing to take even the most bake step of checking a cars safety recall status. They are asking that the federal trade commission block the sales of those cars. The bottom line to the consumer is is this car safe when they buy it. It should be safe when they drive it off the lot. Carmax says it provides the necessary information to consumers to register their cars with the manufacturers so they can be notified of recalls. Critics say putting the burden on consumers is not enough. Two companies that promise people they could get rich working from home are out of business. The ftc has shut down American Business builders and the tax club saying both prayed on individuals who wanted to earn a little extra money.
