The mta just wrapped up a meeting at city hall and with this battle that started over pensions and pay they are looking to punish the drivers beyond withholding their pay. Anything really to get them back behind the wheel. Muni buses running late all across the city and when they arrive, good luck getting on. Its been pretty bad. I mean, i feel like the bus is always slow though. Reporter at least half of muni buses were out of service for a second straight day because bus drivers didnt show up for work. Its not a strike. That would be illegal. Instead, they called in sick by the truckloads. It is chaos. It should not be happening because today is voting day. Reporter mayor ed lee is not only angry but calls the sickout illegal and says drivers who dont prove they were really ill will face the consequences. We have through the investigative process were starting on each individual who may have taken this action without the appropriate level of sickness to prevented that, we dont believe that that many people could be sick obviously. Were hearing tower recordings at the maui airport right after the san jose teen was found stowed away on a jet. 15yearold yahya abdi jumped the fence at san jose airport before boarding the wheel well of an airplane. He made it all the way to hawaii. When it was time for the same jet to take off again, a different piled told air Traffic Controllers a stow pilot told air Traffic Controllers a stowaway was holding them up. We have a little gate delay here. A guy is claiming to have stowed away in the landing gear from san jose to maui so we have security in there. Evidence of the guy being up there for more than, you know, ha, five minutes on the ground. Were going to do an emergency push. Surveillance footage caught him dropping from the wheel well after he landed in hawaii. He was hospitalized for two weeks before returning to san jose. The body of a missing sailor has been found on angel island. The man has been identified as 31yearold Andrew Henry Ewing of sacramento. The coast guard says he sent out a distress signal early yesterday morning. Ewing was apparently heading to the philippines when his 30 foot sailboat sunk near the north end of the golden gate bridge. He is believed to have been the only person on board. Chopper 5 caught the aftermath of a duplex fire this afternoon in san jose. It broke out near wilshire boulevard and north king road at about 3 p. M. Firefighters knocked it down in a matter of minutes. No word on any injuries or what sparked that fire. Concord police are on the lookout for a man who groped a woman in a parking lot. The victim says the suspect followed her from Sunset Avenue to a store on clayton road yesterday afternoon. She heard the suspect saying, i got one into his cell phone. Then at the pinched her rear end then he pinched her rear end and ran from the burglary. The suspect is a black man, 20s, 6 feet, short black hair, wearing a peach polo shirt and khaki pants. She says sterling asked her to be a personal assistant but was fired after refusing to have sex with him and claims sterling made numerous racist and sexist remarks to her. Tonight the city is considering cutting back on street sweeping. The city wants to outsource the job and reduce the frequency of sweepers in residential and Light Commercial areas. Critics though are questioning whether the Obama Administration made the right move. Many of Sergeant Bowe bergdahls fellow soldiers say he was a deserter and may still be disciplined for leaving his post in afghanistan. All that as the president said is beside the point.
