But our average for october say up north under 2 inches. We are expecting to get about 2 inches if this happens over 2 inches in santa rosa by the end of the weekend. Moving to the Altamont Pass. We have red arrows heading out of 205 to the altamont so pretty slow conditions with cars at 20 Miles Per Hour. 205 to the Altamont Pass will take you a slow 15 and then heres a look at the dublin interchange. It will take 15 to 20. On mass transit if you want to avoid the roads, you have no delays to worry about. He made National Headlines when he was released from jail after only serving three months in jail. Crews worked to put two small brush fires out last night south of cleveland road. Contra costa county fire says they suspected arson in the cases. Witnesses say they heard people in that area right before the flames cropped up. There have been about a dozen fires in that area over the past couple of months. Some disturbing details in the murder of a palo alto woman jenny shi. Court documents reveal she was stabbed 41 times and her sister in law jingyan jin was arrested for her murder. Jenny was discovered lying on her bed in a pool of blood with stab wounds on her face, neck and hands. She was killed in july. Last week Police Arrested her sister in law. She is being held without bail and will be arraigned today. The creek fire in napa county is 80 contained. Its been burning since monday. It caused some evacuations but those are lifted. A stabbing suspect is dead after a complication with police in concord. Investigators say that it began yesterday afternoon when the suspect stabbed another man with gardening shears on crawford street near san carlos avenue. Two officers say that when they caught up with the suspect, he used the shears to stab this k 9 officer. Thats when Police Station opened fire. This was a suspect who just stabbed somebody who just attempted to kill somebody. The suspect died at the hospital. The police dog and the man stabbed with the shears are both expected recover. Both concord officers are being investigated by the District Attorneys which is protocol in these situations. Police are trying to track down two men who robbed an older couple at gunpoint in oakland. The video shows the crime took place in august at 33rd avenue and east 16th street. The man and wife were celebrating his 78th birthday and were leaving a restaurant when two armed men approached them it. The man says the robbers held a gun to his head and demanded his valuables. They say he then hit him in the head and pushed his wife. They got away with some money and jewelry. The problem in east and west oakland keeps getting worse, Illegal Dumping. People say the Public Works Department is slow to clean up trash and furniture and human waste that people dump on city streets. The problem, public works has a fleet of aging dump trucks that often break down. Now City Council MemberRebecca Kaplan pushed through a plan to get one new dump truck as quickly as possible. City expects to buy three other trucks later. Today an independent commission offers a variety of ways San FranciscoPolice Officers can build trust within the community. You cant see the bay bridge from this shot but behind the clouds and the fog, we do have more fog today than we did yesterday and you might be actually use the windshield wipers this morning. Visibility, we havent seen any significant problems in terms of significantly reduced visibility on the roads. But certainly gray skies and fog to start out. We are looking at three to five inches for many of the spots north of the bay area where all the reservoirs are so we can really use it in terms of setting up to try to knock down that drought. Right . We love to get more rain in the rain bucket early on. We are also going to see some pretty impressive rainfall totals for Higher Elevations. In fact, the north weather california mountains could see 15 inches of rain. The rest of us, nothing that extreme. We are looking at maybe a couple inches, maybe more than that in the north bay and then farther south, somewhere closer to probably a third inch for portions of the south bay but a soaking rain in the north bay. These are good totals. Look at this. For the average for october, in santa rosa, is under 2. We are expecting by the end of the weekend so we have a system thursday and another saturday into sunday with lingering showers, expecting over 2 possible for santa rosa. But it is now cleared. Chp and tow has cleared it. Traffic is moving at 40 Miles Per Hour approaching the Golden Gate Bridge. Now heres a live look at that. 580 in san rafael to the golden gate toll plaza will take about 20 minutes. So thats looking good on that end. Westbound 80 on the other end here at fremont street, three car crash, chp was out there causing some issues but it is now cleared. But look at that traffic still recovering though just moving at 20 Miles Per Hour. Be traffic stacking up beyond the maze. Maze to downtown 30 minutes to get to downtown San Francisco. Altamont pass 14 miles an hour off 205 to the pass about 20 to 25 minutes. Freeing up through livermore but dub we have a problem, as well. But dublin we have a problem, as well. Hacienda onramp is closed due to a big rig. It will be opening up around 6 a. M. We are starting off with a little fog and low clouds this morning temperatures in the 50s areawide. 55 in oakland. 54 in San Francisco. 50 in santa rosa. 58 in san jose. Satellite perspective showing here is our approaching storm tapping into plenty of moisture bringing it our way and well start to see that rain thursday night into friday. So futurecast timing it out for us here. We are starting off thursday. This is 5 p. M. This is your thursday evening commute where we see scattered showers up north. Not a whole lot of rain right at first but take a look around midnight thursday night into friday you see the heaviest rainfall associated with the passing front. Over two inches in the north bay by the end of the weekend. This is the first round of rain coming through and the heavier rainfall passing through. Friday morning 7 a. M. The friday morning commute a lot of rainfall all at once. We could see ponding on the roads. We could see certainly we will see slick roads because you have the accumulation of all that oil. Our first real good soaker of the season. And actually the Weather Service is issuing a coastal flood advisory, as well. So all these things to keep in mind. It will pass through relatively quickly by friday afternoon. The front will have passed. Well see lingering clouds and showers much of the rain though off to our east. In terms of rainfall totals just in the first round by friday we are looking at an inch and threequarters in santa rosa. Closer to threetenths further south so not as impressive in terms of rain but still rain is good and well take as much as we can get this time of the year. High temperatures we are kind of the calm before the storm if you will. This is the day you want to get out and clean out the gutters and prepare for the rain that will be coming tomorrow. Temperatures are still on the cool side and will stay here as we move through the week. Low to mid70s for the warmest spots inland. 60s at the coast. Mid60s around the bay today. Friday really for the morning commute the best rain in the bay area. A refinery outage in the state could affect gas prices here in the bay area. Southern california is dealing now with the effects of a power outage at the torrance refinery yesterday morning. Gasbuddy. Com predicts a 5 to 15 cent increase in prices at the pump around l. A. A consumer watchdog Spokesman Says that while the price hike will likely be shortlived, the longterm problem at the refinery must be addressed. This refinery should have a backup cogeneration for electricity. Almost every other refinery in Southern California has a backup plan when power goes out. But not this refinery. It could be days before its back to normal Social Security checks mailed out in 2017 will get a pay hike up to. 5 next year. It adds up to 2 to 6 a month. The smallest increase to date. Two brush fires that were burning near cleveland road overnight are out. But this is what it looked like last night. It turns out this might be arson. Witnesses say they heard people in that area right before they saw these flames. Contra costa county fire officials are investigating the cause. Crews hope to have a wildfire burning in napa valley fully contained today. They gained the upper hand on the creek fire last night and have it 80 contained. It is burning about 65 acres west of yountville and all of
