Heres a look at your drive times throughout the area, 101 northbound between that 286 80 split, the highway 237 will take you about 11 minutes and then its green all the way through downtown n jose and also the guadalupe parkway. Moving onto our hot spot this morning, look at the Altamont Pass, traffic coming off 205 at 17 Miles Per Hour so very slow conditions there. 202 to the altamont will take you a heavy 35 minutes and then you got some free moving traffic through livermore, but then youre back in some slow moving traffic on the dublin interchange if youre headed there, Altamont Pass at 680 westbound will take you 15 minutes. Move onto the bay bridge toll plaza. Carn cains bridge carquinez bridge to the maze 35 minutes. If you want to avoid any traffic this morning or dont feel like driving, heres a look at your mass transit, looking good throughout the bay area. New this morning, the bomb squad gave the all clear after they checked out a suspicious package in pa torero hills. Police set up a perimeter and closed off the intersection while the bomb squad investigated. No word on what the device turned out to be. Happening tonight, the San Rafael City Council will consider establishing smart train quiet zones. Neighbors are complaining about the horns on the new smart train and now the City Council Members want to establish certain areas where those horns cant sound. If approved, train engineers would not have to blow their horns as they approach and pass through intersections. Later today, federal investigators will be back on the scene of a deadly train crash in new jersey. They are trying to figure out what caused it to crash through a terminal in hoboken. Yesterday authorities revealed they found another record but it wasnt working when the train crashed. One woman died and more than 100 others were hurt. The engineer who was in control of the train says he cant remember the crash. In Los Angeles Police blocked off an intersection last night as a protest over an officerinvolved shooting became chaotic. If youre in san leandro headed to the maze that should take you about 16 minutes so not a bad commute along the nemetz right now but also the bay bridge toll plaza smooth until 5 30 when the metering lights turn on, carquinez bridge to heres a look at the golden gate bridge, 580 to the toll plaza will take you about 14 so looking good there. And the peninsula, got a few cars moving along the span here from hayward into foster city, 880 to 101 westbound, 13, 14 minute drive. We received yesterday some wide ranges of precipitation around the bay area. At 5 16 this morning this is not the image we are looking for at all but so we will recue that again. We are looking at right now is any chance of rain showers for the morning commute and that is null. Any kind of rain we will see will be during the afternoon hours. It should be pretty minimal at this particular time. Looking at our live weather camera towards embarcadero lit up for fleet week and the blue angels arrival by the tail end of the week. Satellite radar suggests we see anywhere from partly to mostly cloudy skies right now and up north that is the next system that will be rolling into the bay area right on the tail end of yesterdays system that brought some light snow to the greater lake tahoe area. We saw a 10th of an inch of rain in concord. This next system wants to fall apart at the seams as it continues to drag in a southerly direction. Heres our satellite and radar. Area of low pressure, it is unsettled, it could produce a thunderstorm in the high sierra but for us just light rainfall. Go ahead and walk through this together. This is our wind particle map and you can see the winds are coming in off the ocean, though we will go ahead and reverse to more of a southerly flow later on this afternoon. But this area of low pressure by this afternoon promises to bring some light sprinkles. Here is your monday lunch hour. Everybody else is void of any kind of rain showers but again once we do see some light minimal rain, its going to just wet the pavement for the evening commute, bring all that oil close to the surface and makes it a bit on the slippery side. By tuesday at this time tomorrow morning, maybe a lingering shower around the rim of the bay under mostly cloudy skies and then by midweek we start to see our onshore push reverse to more of an offshore component so thats in time for the arrival of the blue angels with that offshore flow and warmer conditions. Until then, the greater lake tahoe forecast are calling for breezy and Cool Conditions today, some light snowfall likely above 7000 feet down at the lake level more like light rainfall. Temperatures across the bay area, should be at 70 in San Francisco but instead 60 degrees, 68 in santa rosa when we should san jose. 50s with the partly to mostly cloudy skies at the beaches today. 60s to low 70s across the peninsula, mid60s in morgan hill, these temperatures well below average. The closer you get to the bay, 63 around fremont, union city and newark. East bay numbers up to about 70 in antioch, the warmest location. Around the Carquinez Strait a advisory, otherwise upper 50s and low 50s in the north bay with a south breeze to 15. Novato will get light rain showers during the afternoon hours but nothing measurable. So starting to feel a lot like autumn in the bay area. Notice our temperatures remain unseasonably mild through about midweek and then we will see that offshore flow kick in on thursday and just in time for the blue angels and all of our activities here in the bay area on friday through sunday when people hit the bay as well. New this morning, San Jose Police are searching for the suspect who led them on a high speed chase through city streets and interstate 680. I just finished speaking with the sergeant heading up this investigation. He has confirmed that blue vehicle you see there up on the basement on the embankment on the side of the road is a stolen vehicle out of milpitas this morning. There is one person, a woman who was a passenger in the car thats being questioned right now here at the scene but the driver managed to get away. He took off running through some brush here into the bushes and so they have been searching through the area, setting up a perimeter trying to look for that person, even called out some k9 units this morning. We do know that the driver went down several local streets including mckee, story, 680, even 101 at one point. The highest he was driving was about 100 Miles Per Hour before deputies were able to put out the spikes to get that person to actually it damaged their tires. Even then, though, they still tried to drive on the damaged tire. They ended up popping the right front tire. You can see there driving the wrong way on 680 this morning. Of course putting people in danger. But eventually pulling off to the embankment here. We know the search is still ongoing. Things have been wrapping up a little bit here. Again, very thick brush that they have been dealing with. One person being questioned right now the driver still on the loose but we are told that it is a male wearing blue jeans, a long black shirt and black glasses. Firefighters say flames were shooting nearly 50 feet in the air. The maysville fire chief says arson investigators are on the scene because theres, quote, no logical reason for it to have started. Thankfully no one was hurt but the warehouse is a total loss. Some promising news indicating that fire crews are getting the upper land on the loma fire. Evacuation orders were lifted for summit road from loma prieta road to highway 152 in Santa Clara County but loma prieta road north of loma prieta way will remain closed. The fire has burned more than 4400 acres so far and is 71 contained. The cause of the fire still under investigation. It happened just after 11 00 saturday night at Concord Police headquarters on galindo street. Officers found the front of the entrance of the building riddled with bullets. Corporal Chris Blakely says dispatchers were working on the third floor when they heard loud bangs nearby. We just heard a bunch of bangs out in front. Unknown if they were targeting us, the Police Department, or if it was intended for somebody else. Investigators are reviewing Surveillance Video to get a description of the suspects and their car. A warning for fremont hikers, it may become more difficult to park near your favorite trails. Parking permit program just went into effect in the neighborhood below mission peak. It is now illegal to park in this designated area without displaying a residential parking permit on the weekends and major holidays. In wisconsin it took a communitywide effort at nearly 20 hours to find a little boy who went missing in a corn field, more than 400 neighbors turned out to look for 3year old dyton logalbo.
