They will have to figure out the cause of the fire. This is one of those things a building under construction and the frame is up but theres a lot of open space in the middle of the building or the nonexisting building at that point so that turns things into a matchbox so thats what we saw here with this very fierce fire that continues to burn at this hour. So far there have been four shootings, the first one happening in may, the latest happening this past saturday. All of them happened between 12 30 and 1 00 a. M. One man was grazed by a bullet. Another victim hit with shrapnel. We found one man who discovered his window shot out when he woke up one morning and heres what he says happened to him. My drives side window was shot out. Its a form of terrorism. They are going around town and terrorizing people and people in the car now . Thats just i would say its terrorism. New this morning, we are learning a South African judge has sentenced olympian Oscar Pistorius as he was gotten a 6 year sentence for murdering reeva steenkamp. He was convicted of manslaughter and it was changed to murder last september on appeal. He had faced 15 years. He made history back in 2012 by becoming the first amputee sprinter to compete in the olympics using prosthetics. Strong winds and curious birds wont make it easy but today caltrans removed another truss from the old bay bridge. In just more than an hour, crews kick off a complicated operation to take down the bridges fourth truss. Teams will lower the 504foot truss on to a barge and bring it to the port of oakland to be disassembled. Caltrans is so confident all will go well, they are Live Streaming it. Weather permitting, the project should conclude in a up conflict days. Tesla is tangled up in another selfdriving car crash. A model x had a wreck in pennsylvania. The two men inside survived after their ride hit a guardrail and rolled over. The National Insurance crime bureau says they are seeing more reports of this type of car theft and believe this is the new way to steal a car. One of the bay areas most scenic highways is a death trap for wildlife. According to a sierra club study, 280 between san jose and San Francisco is one of the deadliest stretches for animals in the state. Newer highways are built with wildlife migration patterns in mind with undercrossings. A group of parents opposed to the new vaccine law is filing a lawsuit. Anne makovec will have more information from the scene. It is causing closures and slower speeds westbound 580 because it is visible from the freeway. Right now the bay bridge is still moving. Traffic isnt doing too badly as you work through there. Its 5 17. Metering lights go on around 5 30 typically so lets check conditions east of there. If you are heading towards the bay bridge heads up there are some closures now in place. That may affect your access to 580. Westbound macarthur boulevard onramp to westbound 580 is closed due to the fire. Macarthur is closed west of market and san pablo avenue north of west macarthur also completely shut down. So speeds start to slow down through the area. Spectator slowing as you work your way through there. So keep that in mind. The rest of the bay area quiet. No major accidents or problems right now. Heres a live look at 880 past the coliseum and traffic is moving well. Northbound 238 to the maze, 16 minutes. I know no southbound side delays. Reporter firefighters made a lot of progress on this fire over the past hour. You can see the building or what was the building here behind me. It is a shell of a building. It was under construction and actually it was just the frame that was there before this fire started at 2 30 this morning and thats why it made it so easy for the fire to rip through that half a building. Even the cranes were on fire at one point. So huge orange flames leaping into the air. This is near the oakland and emeryville border at adeline and west macarthur san pablo road. This was a condo mixeded use building thats been under construction and when the fire started, it really took off very quickly. Drivers all over the east bay reported seeing this fire. It was certainly a visual distraction. This is very close to the macarthur maze so people were seeing that and they have now actually closed the west macarthur onramp to westbound 580. Several other road closures around the area, as well. Firefighters are going to be spraying water all morning to make sure its out. There are other condos in the area and so there were some evacuations. Theres a lot of Power Outages in the area, as well. Pg e had to cut off the power to several blocks around this fire. Now, back out here live, at adelaide avenue, you can see all the fire trucks here on scene. Eventually, they will try to figure out what started this fire but it is going to take a while again for them to make sure that this building, this property, is fully out. They have been in a defensive mode well, basically since soon after this started at 3 a. M. Trying to just stand back. The fire was so hot, they tried to stand back and put it out spraying water from the outside. Basically just trying to protect the other buildings here in the area. Protestors in louisiana took to the streets last night after police shot and killed a black man in an executionstyle shooting. Police say 37yearold alton sterling stuffed with the two scuffled with the two responding officers outside a Convenience Store in baton rouge. A video is posted online that claims to be of the incident. Police have Surveillance Video from the store and dashcam video from a police car. This may definitely be the next ferguson right here in baton rouge. Thats the worry. Both officers have been placed on administrative leave pending further investigation. Baton rouge police are expected to hold a News Conference this morning. A vote on gun control legislation could come later this week. Yesterday, democrats renewed the push for new legislation. They want to expand background checks, tighten gun show loopholes and ban those on the no fly list from purchasing guns. House Speaker Paul Ryan promised a vote on a republican backed bill later this week but democrats are not hopeful. The bill is similar to a measure that was already rejected by the u. S. Senate. In san jose, Police Officers fatally shot aid troubled teen but their chief is stressing that the cops showed great judgment in a tough situation. The deadly confrontation happened monday on this block in the east foothills. The citys chief says that officers got a call about a suicidal man armed with a gun. Cops reportedly gave him space for 14 minutes trying to convince the teen who had apparently shot himself in the head to drop his gun and leave the house. Officers say that they had to shoot when the teen aimed the gun at the cops. The Police Involved in the shooting are on administrative leave. As far as closures go, still shut down macarthur boulevard onramp closed so you cannot access 580 from macarthur boulevard. Also macarthur closed west of Market Street so keep that in mind. Sacramento officials are investigating a freak 4th of july accident that left a disability activist dead. 60yearold lori hyrup was on a boat with family and friends with friends. And by the time i did and got a rope around her and pulled her up it was at least 5 to 7 minutes and it was just too long. They couldnt bring her back. We are starting to see some delays along highway 4. Hillcrest to 242, nine minutes. Hot spots along 580 out of the Altamont Pass this morning. Actually out of tracy westbound 580 out of 205 connector we see a lot of red on our sensors so speeds under 25 Miles Per Hour. Had then it improves. In greenville things get better. Then slight delays on the dublin interchange. But as far as drive times from the Altamont Pass to 680, it gets better through there.
