As we check on the altamont pass, westbound 580 beginning to slow down now leaving the 205 interchange. Stays heavy in pockets already towards pleasanton. No accidents out there. We did have earlier roadwork which has since been picked up. It was left over from overnight. Marin county driving looking good. Southbound 101 moving well leaving southern marin bound for San Francisco. And 880 through the oakland area, there was roadwork in that southbound direction leaving oakland bound for san leandro. A former harvard educated lawyer involved in a bizarre kidnapping for ransom case is expected in court today. 38yearold Matthew Muller is accused of breaking into a house in vallejo last march. Police say he tied up aaron quinn and kidnapped denise huskins. She was found safe. He pled not guilty. If convicted he could face life in prison. Five people recovering from a stab wound after an attack on a College Campus in the central valley. It happened yesterday morning at ucmerced. Campus police shot and killed the attacker. Students got alerts about the multiple stabbings just before 8 a. M. Merced county sheriff says the suspect was a student who lived on campus. The attack started inside a second floor classroom and a man who was doing construction outside heard people screaming and went inside and helped out. I went to open the door to break it up and see if everybody was okay. And they all screamed, run as i opened the door. Byron price says the suspect came charging at him with what looked like a butcher knife. Price was stabbed in the side but deputies say his heroic efforts saved more people from getting hurt. Two people are recovering now in the hospital. Sacramento police say this man is in custody in connection with the stabbing of a local hero spencer stone. Officers arrested james tran yesterday after investigating him for some time. Stone was stabbed during this fight last month outside a sacramento bar. Stone made news in august when he and two friends thwarted a terror attack on a train in france. He says he is relieved because someone has been arrested. Medicalling for the bay bridge toll plaza didnt heading for the bay bridge toll plaza didnt take much to slow the traffic, slow from the 880 overcrossing, metering lights are on. Once you pass this mess traffic is okay across the bridge heading into San Francisco. 20 minutes between the carquinez bridge and the maze in oakland. Meantime, over at the san mateo bridge, westbound traffic has been fine. Its been very quiet for this commute and the dumbarton bridge. Both are still fine for the drive out of the east bay heading towards the peninsula. So 13 minutes drive time between hayward and foster city. And southbound 101 leaving southern marin everything is nice and quiet. All of the earlier roadwork we have for marin county has been cleared out and southbound 101 now looks good between san rafael and San Francisco. Very quiet conditions there. Crystal clear at the golden gate. And heading for the Richmond San Rafael bridge, no problems to report. Just westbound traffic is fine between richmond and san rafael. Thats a look at kcbs traffic. Reporter the future of apple can be seen from the air. New drone video shows just how monstrous its new spaceship campus is, not far from its headquarters in cupertino. Once construction is done next year, apple will put 12,000 workers under this one roof. But it isnt stopping here. We are very excited about the possibility of apple looking at san jose as a next frontier for them to grow their company. Reporter already, apple is plotting to build another megacampus in north san jose. They have 4. 15 million square feet to play with. When you add up the bare land and existing buildings, its already bought or leased, thats almost double the size of the cupertino spaceship. Great for Silicon Valley whenever a company as iconic and important as apple is growing their presence and jobs here in Silicon Valley rather than in texas or singapore or anywhere else on the planet. Exactly what apple wants to do with its new real estate is top secret. There is no formal proposal just yet. But the city of san jose is drafting a Development Agreement with apple that would provide a broad framework for a future project. We think it would be a great match. We have long considered ourselves the capital of Silicon Valley.
