Some time after 11 00 1 girl rest tuesday the girl was rescued. It happened here at the maria in antioch. Thanks to a couple of things including an amber alert and an observant woman who was willing to get involved even at some personal risk. The woman is l asia burks. We were parked directly next to the car, it was crazy. Reporter she and her sister were hanging out when she got a call from another sister who had seen the alert. She told us what kind of car it was, i said wait were sitting next to a gold toyota. Reporter her sister warned her the man might have a gun but burks pressed on. I was going to knock on his window. The guy window because i saw him laying down and im like there can not be an adult laying under him because he was laid too flat. So i went to my car and i just honked the horn to stop the car and the car that stopped was a Police Officer undercover. And i just kept honking the horn and he jumped out with the gun and he took the guy get out of the car. Reporter the 7yearold was declared safe and sound and reunited with her family at the police station. Police chief said it was the second close call in a short span of time. We had a similar incident yesterday at the walmart where a mother was with her daughter. And this individual who has been idd is a person we have in custody this evening approached her daughter and also approached her. Reporter the mother took her daughter and left. Investigators received a tip and set up surveillance and noticed somebody that looked just like mr. Laws. Began to follow that individual. And approached him at a gas station and it turned out to be many laws. Reporter he is charged with accessory to murder in a case that made international news. August 2010. 50yearold a tourist from germany was in San Francisco with her family to celebrate her birthday and anniversary. Two groups opened fire on each other outside a union square nightclub. She was killed in the crossfire. Serve People Associated with the murder have been in jail for two years now. Awaiting trial. But laws eluded Law Enforcement until yesterday. Starting january 13th, the cost at most east bay stations will rise by 50 cents to 2 a day. The exception in west oakland parking there will cost 6 a day. Daly city b. A. R.
