The stations going and does not not have a backup generator, so that it will. It could very well prove to be a lifesaving tool on the field, but building it will not be easy. Is a learning expense for a lot of us. We are dealing with more batteries, and theres a big safety component there. So, for two days these firefighters got a crash course in the nuts and bolts of green energy, an emerging part of disaster response. Today hes checking the waterlines for any leaks or breaks in the system. He finds one and quickly fixes it. But, when hes not hard at work helping to make wine hes feeding his passion for gardening without leaving the j. The job. In mexico they grow a lot of their own produce. Its something ive always thought was a special opportunity, as we these large vineyards. Sometimes sometimes there are areas that arent great for grapes, but its still good dirt. Carmelo and many of the other other workers, originally from mexico, bring a mastery of agriculture to wine country. But but at home there is no room to garden. Each week workers can bring home fresh vegetables and fruits to feed their families. Translator napa valley was a a special place to come to, because of how pretty it was peered but also, there was so much opportunity. You have to to move quick to keep up as they they picked grapes off the vine. The vine. So the garden is just one more way the winery can say thank you. I always say what makes a great estate great is not just location and the climate of that that location, but really the people behind it that make it happen. Carmelo showed us the increde crop he has helped create, which which would be the envy of any c any organic section at the local local supermarket. He loves the whole process from planting to harvesting. But his favorite of all this bounty, the melons. They are the hardest to grow, ad grow, and they are the first to go when animals get into the garden. The beauty isnt just in in the quality you see in each section, but in what it represents for the workers. Givg workers. Giving them a sense of unity a bond built by their shared culture. Creating commun, and celebrating their heritage at the same time. Translator we are a really tightknit group. I would call as as a family. Reporting in napa county, shawn chitnis, kpix 5.
