The winds, a couple miles up, are going to shift around a little bit, but still generally be out of the east. More smoke will be transported into the atmosphere over the bay area, not just tomorrow but continuing into thursday. But that smoke aloft isnt going to make its way down to ground level to any great degree. Because the winds at ground level are onshore, keeping the fresh air from the pacific at ground level, keeping the smoke from settling down to the lowest levels of the atmosphere. Theres going to be some smoke that gets pulled down by gravity and the onshore breeze may weaken enough at times to allow the air quality to deteriorate into the moderate category. I think thats worst its going to get. Not just tomorrow but through the rest of the workweek and even into the weekend. Were going to see another surge of monsoonal moisture that brings in the possibility of dry thunderstorms later this week. Well talk about that in a few minutes.
