As the marchers moved toward the central freeway, the cph was ready, blocking onramps, causing a brief traffic tie up. Later in the afternoon a small group of counterprotesters got into a heated verbal argument with a trump supporter. Patriot prayers rally organizer joey gibson briefly showed up at the field this afternoon as well, but didnt engage with counterprotesters, and back at the civic center, a man who identified himself as a trump supporter also showed up. Rallies at both crissy field and alamo squar the leader of the Group Patriot Prayer spent the day running around the bay area. After canceling two rally, he then popped up in pacifica this afternoon. I dont see this as a loss. I see this as an opportunity for america to wake up. That was where the Patriot Prayer organizers were going to rally before canceling it at the last minute. A line of back up officer tried to push some of the counterprotesters back. Caught in the middle were unsuspecting tourists, stuck and surround bid protesters. Surrounded by protesters. They were here to see the painted ladies, but instead they saw protesters and Police Officers at work. Police detained a woman who charged through a police line. Eventually officers allowed all the counterprotesters to rally next to alamo square. Some of them came with helmets and sticks. Others came here to peacefully demonstrate against hate. Were here to fight against fascism and the hate thats going on. Reporter Police Officers fenced off the entire park, aside from the officers on the ground, we saw a few people monitoring the protest from roof stops. They had their eyes on the folks covered up, some of the same characters seen at previous violent protests. We were able to get that shut down.
