With the snow, of course, comes some pretty hazardous road conditions. It started snowing. It was real light and then it got heavy real fast and i decided to come down, rather be safe than sorry. The road leading to the beach is closed as a precaution, Lick Observatory also shut down until the weather gets better, another inch of fresh powder expected to fall tonight. It was absolutely despicable coming from mexico back to the united states. We have just wanted to get home and they wouldnt let us. In atlanta it was the same story. Customs officers had to manually log people entering the united states. Take a look at this. The line stretched around the terminal, no end in sight. This is time lapse of a traveler just trying to find the back of that line. Here in the bay area we spoke to one passenger who landed in san jose and got stuck in this mess. They told us nothing. So we stood in line for at least an hour before they started saying something was wrong. Tonight social media was flooded with posts from angry passengers like this one at sfo. The airport told us tonight their computers experienced a slowdown but didnt crash. Tonight u. S. Customs and border protect tweeted this. There is no indication the disruption was malicious in nature. The outage lasted about four hours. Oakland airport was not affected. The cause of the meltdown is now under investigation. Reporter the 49ers say theyre in compliance with both the spirit and letter of their agreement with the city having twice opened their books to auditors who visited team headquarters. Much of the antagonism the 49ers face currently stems from their illegal fated attempt to rent the soccer fields next door to the stadium. The move mobilized the community and soted seeds of deeply rooted dis and sowed the seeds of deeply root the distrust. This is not something we ever wanted to do, but the fact of the matter is the 49ers wont negotiate in good faith, wont up their books up. The 100yearold artery connects the bay area to the hetch hetchy reservoir. Weve known that some of the lining is deteriorating and its now time to go in there and make that assessment seeking repairs. Reporter the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission Says typically the pipeline closes for maintenance every other year about a month. This time it will be closed 60 days. The inspection will determine if the puc can simply repair mountain tunnel or whether it will have to build a new one. It would be close to the original one, but once that went into service youd have two tunnels and we are looking at that as an advantage as a redundancy in your water system is always a good thing. Reporter a new tunnel would cost 620 million to build and would take several years, but if inspectors determine the tunnel only needs repairs, it could mean more hetch hetchy shutdowns in the future. For now your tap water will come from local reservoirs and two local Water Treatment plants in pinole and san bernardino. Customers shouldnt notice a difference. Were using different parts of our system. All our reservoirs are high quality water sources. Sfpuc said it started switching water supply from the hetch hetchy over to the local reservoirs and Treatment Plants a couple weeks ago, but it will be finalized tomorrow.
