The good news is that theres a relatively new vaksine just vaccine just approved in 2014 that does cover this group. And if vaccinated will give protection from infection. Reporter the vaccination clinic will continue tomorrow morning at 10 00 am. Because this is a double dose vaccine, all of the students getting their vaccines today will need to come back and get the second dose about a month from now. An employee in alameda died of meningitis last month. It was a different strain and not related to the cases in santa clara. The search is on for a couple of bay area bug lares caught on camera, smashing burglars on camera smashing into a store then getting really liquored up. Tonight the door, the shelf, the booze, and some of the atm, the owner took it out. Berkeley Police Officers tell me they believe the truck used in all of this was stolen. Are a 22yearold San Francisco man is under arrest suspected of killing an apple analyst who was also a popular dj. This is the victim, 29yearold joseph razzo. He was stabbed outside a San Francisco nightclub 11 days ago. He died on tuesday. And the motive is unclear. Its been one year since a well known bay area rapper was shot and killed in oakland. Still no justice. His friends and fellow musicians wont let him be forgotten. Reporter they came here to light candles for a rapper who spoke for these streets. Poet for the urban youth. It made you feel, made you alive. Reporter one year later, his murder remains unsolved. Some people blame the police. Other know the unspoken rule in this community. Even people who know what happened may never tell. Theres nothing to really talk about. We all miss him. Reporter Oakland Police did not return a message seeking comment about this case. Theyve made no arrests. But they believe the community may hold the key to what happened. One of jackas friends plans to roll out several unreleased tracks by the rapper later this year. The city of pacifica cant seem to catch a break. Relentless powerful waves have carved out another gaping hole on the promenade. You can see parts of it on beach boulevard are now in rubble. Waves almost as tall as the pier itself heading straight for the seawall. Visitors are warned to be extremely careful. People who live nearby are getting very nervous. This is a bit frightening. The old span of the bay bridge lost about 5 Million Pounds today. Crews successfully lowered one of the trusses onto a platform in the bay. The process is slow. 25 feet an hour. Each section will be lowered onto a barge, dismantled and recycled. Crews are being extra cautious so they dont disturb the marine life in the process. There were hundreds of timber piles that were utilized in the erection of the truss. However, now we have environmental stores to not put any of those piles in the bay. Caltrans says traffic on the bridge shouldnt be affected. The demolition will take about two years. A little more than two days until super bowl 50 kicks off in santa clara. The game airs right here. Antipolice protestors tried to distrust a super bowl party. About 40 members of a justice for Mario Woods Coalition stood outside city hall. They held pictures of the young man who was gunned down by police. Many of them demanded that San Franciscos lets chief be fired. We sat down with the chief recently. I want them to rush to the danger. But if you get there, and is its not actively going on, i also think be smart enough to then stop and back up. Reporter back up, take time, and call for help. All concepts that seem to contradict what many perceive as a police cowboy culture. How do you make that change of culture so that an officer understands that one of the weapons they have in their arsenal is backing away . I have one advantage that ive been around for a long time. And i was out on the street for a long time. So ive been in these situations. As the chief of police, im telling the officers its not only okay, im asking you to do this. Reporter another change, reevaluating the so called 21 foot rule. Some Police Officers interpret it as a green light to use deadly force. There have been a lot of conversations about how quickly a person with an edge weapon can cover a distance before an officer can react. Is the 21foot rule really the safest for everybody . I would say no. Reporter misha says change will not come easily. Its a great idea but up to a certain point. Because the department, if the guns are drawn, the gun never goes down. Reporter San Francisco police shot and killed her son 15 years ago in a standoff at the sony metrion theater. Even though just like mario woods, he was alone, armed only with a small knife. Since then, San Francisco police have shot and killed 38 men and women. And almost all were minorities, almost all were suffering from mental illness. I dont want to be sarcastic but it, but im not convinced yet. We have a lot of bipolar. Reporter the killing led the department to increase crisis intervention training for officers from eight hours to 40. This year it became mandatory for all officers. Do you have any pushback from officers who say youre asking me to endanger myself . There are some officers who dont like the thank of being asked to tactically reposition or retreat. Im making the situation safer for them. You know there are going to be critic who is say youre only making these changes now because people are calling for your resignation in the aftermath of a horrible incident. And this is reactionary at best. What do you say . I would say that sometimes necessity is the mother of invention. In many of the chiefs changes have already gone into effect. Crisis intervention training is now mandatory. Range training where they fire their weapons has expanded from one hour to eight, focusing on deescalation options. And the mere pointing of a firearm is considered a reportable use of force. Can you imagine anyone just walking away from 63 million .
