California is a step closer tonight to requiring that most school kids be vaccinated. Today, the Senate Approved a measure, much to the chagrin of the vocal minority of people who dont trust vaccines. Sharon chin with the decision. Reporter the bill effectively says no shots, know school. It passed with a compromise. A personal and spiritual belief. Reporter expectant mother nani says she will not agree to mandatory vaccinations for her child. It is about the cleanliness of the vaccinations and the schedule of the vaccinations. Reporter but senate bill 277 passed today would eliminate the personal belief exception. It says kindergarteners entering school must be vaccinated starting fall of 2016. That would be a really effective way to ensure that we are protected against outbreaks of preventable diseases. Reporter in a significant compromise, the senate bill grandfathers in 26,000 children whose parent haves already claimed the personal belief exemption, that means kids who didnt get their shots in kindergarten may not have to get theirs until seventh grade. When nanis son is ready . Im not going to go against my values for myself, for my son, for our family. You dont get vaccinated, your only other option would be home schooling. Thats right. But i dont believe at all that im putting anybody elses life at risk. Reporter there are bikers who want the same trail access as hikers. And there are hikers who sabotage legal bike trails with upholstery tax. This is a person who seems like they dont like cyclists. Reporter trying to keep control, at least five different agencies trying to patrol open space that runs all the way to the pacific. Rangers frantically snap pictures and hand out citations chasing cyclists that ride well into the night. Yeah, night riding is another issue. The bikers chew up, lets go out and shred the trail. We have this beautiful land that created the Mountain Bike and it is the most restrictive place probably in, definitely the United States to ride Mountain Bikes. The bikers love the mountain just as much as everybody else. That is why we live here. That is why we ride here. We have to run from the cops all the time. Just to do it. The buoys are registering 53 degrees for the ocean water. That is chilly. And the air coming from the ocean is chilly as well. We will stay below average right through the weekend into next week.
