Paul, you were in it. It was crazy it was nuts. I have been here 20 years and never seen a hailstorm and the aftermath like this. It started in napa when we were reporting from the Napa High School football game. Things got crazy there, then we got video from Browns Valley road. That purple there was intense hail and look what it look like after the storm was finished. It is not everyday you can do hail angels in the bay area, but they did tonight in wine country. The ice is deep enough for kids to play in. Driving and in napa tonight, it looks like it snowed but it is not snow. It is thousands of pieces of ice. Hail, a huge hailstorm hit the ground and it looks like an inch or two of snow on the ground in late september here in napa. People are out having a good time having hail fights thinking its a snowball fight. If you dont want to get wet, you can always try to pack an ice ball and throw it up in the air. After all, it is not often the streets of napa look like this. It is certainly something people here will not forget. All of a sudden we looked outside and all the hail was moving down the street toward our little area here and it came down that in. In the 49 years i have lived here, i have never seen anything like this. Anything close . Never. We were standing on the porch and i was having to yell to my mom a couple of feet away. As the hail was melting, melting grabs heat from the atmosphere, that one neighborhood dropped down to 49 degrees. We drove a mile away and it was back up to 60. It sat right over that spot, for hail to form, there has to be such a strong up draft that it suspends the rain so it freezes into chunks of ice about the size of peas hand in some parts of the neighborhood, it was four to five inches thick. Well an uber drive is free on bail after being arrested for attacking one of his passengers with a hammer. Joe vasquez got some new information just about an hour ago.
