Marilyn hartman could be anywhere tonight. The one place she is not is the la county jail. She served just a few days of a 177 day sentence. She admitted in court to breaking her probation twice, first, when she snuck on a flight from san jose to los angeles last week and again, when she ignored an order to stay away from lax. She is homeless and feels safer on the streets. There is no word on where she is tonight or the circumstance surrounding her release. And breaking news, you are looking at live pictures of ferguson, missouri where police are squaring off with protesters to enforce a mandatory curfew. The saint louis suburb has been rocked by a week of protests over the shooting of an unarmed black teenager by a white Police Officer. There are some 200 protesters out in that area tonight. Omar villafranca has more. Reporter missouris governor is is calling for calm in missouri. This is not the silence the people of ferguson or this region or others. Reporter governor jay nixon declared the state of emergency saturday hoping to restore order after friday nights protests turned violent. Police once again used tear gas after a small group of looters stormed local stores. We wont enforce that curfew with trucks or tear gas. We will communicate. We will talk about it being time to go home. Reporter the unrest started last weekend after Police Officer Darren Wilson shot 18 yearold unarmed Michael Brown during an altercation. It escalated when brown was shown in a robbery at a Convenient Store shortly before he was shot to death. The peaceful protests continue all day saturday. The world is watching ferguson. We cannot allow the ill will of the view to undermine the goodwill of the many and count to put the people and businesses of this community in danger. Reporter the investigation into browns shooting could take weeks. The u. S. Justice department is also intensifying its own civil rights investigation. In ferguson, missouri, omar villafranca, kpix5. And anger over the situation in ferguson boiled over in oakland today. They had a rally of a different kind. Reporter more than a thousand people marched to the port of oakland. Many of them palestinian supporters who came to stop an israeli ship. Oakland Police Officers were on high alert after think noticed the group of who they believed to be anarchists. Come carrying weapons. This man had what appear today be a long knife on his backpack. Hands up, dont shoot reporter mixed in with the palestinian supporters were people here to protest Police Brutality and some antipolice demonstrators who took part in last nights protest also came out. Some alls officers pigs and murders. Hands up, dont shoot reporter protest organizers and officers tried to keep this demonstration under control following some isolated cases of vandalism last night. A group of antipolice marchers clashed with officers friday evening when they tried to march onto a downtown freeway. Investigators say some protesters pepper prayed several officers. One person beat up an officer sending him to the hospital. They say some people broke a few windows and tagged some businesses. Thats crazy. I was here last night. I couldnt believe they did that. Police are looking for a driver who left a toddler to drive. It happened on mission between fourth and fifth. The twoyearold girl was in the crosswalk with a Family Member when she was hit and killed. Flowers now mark the spot where she died. Police released this surveillance photo of the car. It is a late model camry or lexus with a mismatched front bumper and dark colored rim. A 2. 6 quake struck just after 7 30 between berkeley and pedemont. Not many people heard it. Fireworks slung out of a moving car in oakland. They started half a dozen small fires. Firefighters put them out before they could do damage. And battle lines are being drawn over a proposed new cemetery in the east bay. Hundreds of people hit the trail in san ramon today. They are protesting a Big Development plan for the area that includes a large cemetery with up to 150,000 plots. Opponents have nicknamed it the valley of the dead. It would be built in the hills between long leaf circle and canino tasajara. It is controlled by the county but the city says they are prepared to fight the project. We want to kill this project off once and for all. And folks are going to continue to make people aware of the impacts of this project and how bad it is for the community. The developer told kpix5, the area needs the project and called the opposition misguided. Just days after Robin Williams death, a Suicide Prevention bill is moving forward in the state legislature. The bill by San Rafael Assembly member mark levine would make sure Mental Health professionals would be trained to detect suicidal patients. Nearly all suicides have seen a doctor before their death. And Robin Williams fans remembered him by enjoying his favorite hits. A Film Festival was held. The movies were free, so was the popcorn. Fans mourns his death all week recalled the joy his work gave them through the years. People are really enjoying themselves. There was a lot of laughter. We drove from phoenix today. Reporter the neil family made the six hour drive for a twominute drive on colossus. She gets to share her favorite coaster with her son and husband. This old ride cant compare to the newer sleeker taller faster rides that tower over it. But there was a time when this was the most colossal draw at six flags magic mountain.
