Three young men from the bay area lost their lives including george chen of san jose, david wang of fremont. Tonight, their parents have a message for other families. We have love in our heart. Tears in our eyes, responsibility on our shoulder. And we hear the voice from our children from heaven. Reporter these four parents say they would give their own lives to have their sons back. George chen and david wang, charlie wang and jane had just one son under chinas one child policy. They brought him to america for a better life. He was killed by a knife by his roommate who then went on a rampage on the college campus. It could happen to your own children. So, maybe it is too late for our children, but it is not too late for all americans to stop the killing. To stop the anger. To stop the hatred. Reporter they feel the best way to end the series of mass killings in this country is for more parents to be more involved with their childrens lives and more closely monitor their mental health. Kelly wang and john chen are also critical to the media for focusing too much attention to the killer Elliot Rodger and his family. It is the word of hatred. This is the word of violence. It promotes the killer as a celebrity. Reporter these parents would rather focus on a letter written about their sons by their college classmates. They loved and were loved. And will forever be remembered as the magnificent men you raised them to be. The loss of our sons is unbearable. As parents, i could give away my own life in exchange for my sons life. In our heart, many times, we still picture his coming back home. And we really hope we are the last family to have to endure this kind of unspeakable pain. Well the families were also upset that the gunmans parents never reached out to them personally. Never apologized. Well last night, the shooters father did email them an apology. Supreme court today about buffer zones at Abortion Clinics. Tonight we are learning a few feet may make all the difference. They struck down a law that made protesting illegal within 35 feet of clinics. The four liberal forces joined chief roberts in their opinion that it burdens the freedom of speech. Christin ayers, what does this all mean . Reporter well, ken, San Franciscos buffer zone is 25 feet. That means this clinic, it starts at that door and comes all the way down to this yellow line, but if you thought this decision meant the end of that yellow line, think again. It is weakening a particular mechanism. A particular tool we had to help reduce the intimidation and harassment of clients. Reporter heather estes, ceo of this regions planned parenthood says that since the arc went up last year marking a buffer zone in the clinic, abortion protests have changed. The buffer zone keeps it calmer, chills it out a little bit. And keeps the people separated. Reporter tonight, the yellow line may be in limbo after the Supreme Court ruled on a 35foot buffer at an Abortion Clinic in boston. Essentially, 35 feet is too much. Reporter but the Supreme Court did not make a decision on buffers smaller than 35 feet like San Francisco. What is left up in the air for municipalities to answer is whether or not buffers that are less than that, but greater than eight feet are going to be allowed to stand. Reporter henderson says this is not a victory or defeat for either side. It is simply a clarification, but estes worried about what would happen if the buffer should shrink. Intimidating and harassing in a very up close and personal way is not okay. Reporter in San Francisco, christin ayers, kpix5. Tonight, nanny nightmare. Only three days worth of shooting of planet of the apes actually happened in San Francisco. It comes down to dollars and cents. Theres certainly, i mean, in new orleans, and vancouver, there definitely are tax breaks that provide incentive to shoot there.
