Kpix5s brian webb is live in San Franciscos russian hill neighborhood. Brian . Reporter seems to be a little more activity going on here. You see the hasmat guys breaking down back there. The address comes back to johnson leathers on the first floor. There are several apartments on the second floor, the fbi served a search warrant on this building this morning. 15 hours later they are still here and we still dont know exactly why. Head to though in hasmat suits, fbi agents raided an apartment in russian hill. Nobody knew what they were looking at. A true crime scene. Something could be happening. Maybe somebody is making bombs . Could be. Could be a meth lab. I dont know. These are all guesses. Reporter agents went through a side door to a nondescript green twostory building with no signs out front and nobody in the back and the fbi didnt do much to clear the air either. There is no threat to public safety. There are precautionary measures being taken for agent safety which is why you see a lot of this equipment. Reporter no danger outside, but whatever is inside is enough to put fire and police on standby, block off the street and break out the gas masks. We have to trust that our taxpayer dollars are going to a good cause and i hope they do a good job. One person died. The cause is under investigation. People living on Treasure Island will soon find out for sure if it is safe to be there. There have been ongoing concerns over radiation. Mark kelly has more on the final tests slated for the summer. Reporter Treasure Island is paradise, but people who call the island home think scratch the surface and it is anything but. Navy behind the radiation checkups insists that radiation levels pose no let to Public Health. The plan is to turn the island into private developers over the next 15 years. Streets and grass have been tested but when higher than expected radiation levels turned up in a structure last year, they decided additional testing on homes would be prudent. It is something we need to investigate further. We would potentially relocate the residents. There is no Public Health hazard, we believe. Once the radiation tests are made, it is expected that the island will be turned over to San Francisco. A large and noisy protest to bring crude oil by rail to the bay area. About 100 people showed up outside the Kinder Morgan rail yard in richmond. Kpix5 was the first to discover they were already bringing in the crude by train. It started last fall without an Environmental Impact report. Residents say they are going to put up a fight. We do not plan for any crude by rail trains to roll today and no other time that we are aware of. We need to take matters in our own hands to protect our lives and the environment, then that is what we will do. Earlier this year, the ntsb put out a report recommending stricter regulation on crude by rail shipments. Well, we now know one of the two men killed in a bridge construction accident near sacramento is from richmond. A basket fell from a crane when a wire snapped yesterday in the town of winters. 49yearold glen hotgen of richmond and another worker were in the basket and they died in the fall. Cal osha is investigating. And a ranger is saying six hikers likely fell in a fall from mount rainier. It is believed they fell 3300 feet from their last location from an avalanche prone area.
