He was trying to go back in the fire to get his daughter. Reporter but the fire was coming out of all windows and doors. But it wasnt nothing he could do, because the house is engulfed in flames. My main concern was getting him away from there. Reporter by the time the firefighters got there, they couldnt save her either. Every angle we approached, we had fire. So we tried from the front. We put ladders up in the rear. We ended up breaching the balls on either side and we went through that way. Reporter and when two firefighters did get inside, they fell through the second floor. They were both injured but will be okay. Six people lived in this apartment, a total of 22 are now displaced from the building. It was just crazy. We seen that big fire. Reporter it turned out dorner was inside a condo, less than 100 feet away, the whole time, overlooking the sheriffs command post. I dont believe we made any mistakes at this point. We performed flawlessly. Reporter before his rampage ended, dorner killed four people, including a San Bernardino county sheriffs deputy, on the final day. An oakland man wrongfully convicted of trying to kill a man is getting a Second Chance at life. Ronald ross has spent more than six years of a 25year sentence, convicted of attempted murder and assault with a firearm.
