New at 6 00, police are investigating a pair of unusual sexual assaults on santa rosa hiking trails. The victims, both men who reported being attacked by three men at night. The first happened on the poleman creek trail. The other on the joe rodado trail between hampton way and sunny point road. Both assaults happened last month, but despite the similarities and the circumstances, police are not sure if the cases are connected. Meanwhile, a third uc Berkeley Student has come forward accusing an assistant professor of Sexual Harassment. A former undergrad filed a complaint against the assistant professor, the university, and the board of regents. Two other students filed complaints against the same professor back in april. The university has faced several Sexual Harassment scandals in recent months including an assistant mens basketball coach and another involving a former law school dean. One man is under arrest tonight after an argument erupted in deadly gunfire in san leandro. One victim was shot to death about 2 00 in the morning outside a bar at 150th avenue and robin street. A second was badly wounded. They took the wounded man on a stretcher. Minutes earlier, the gunman had gotten into a confrontation with a group of people. When the dispute escalated, he shot a man in the head killing him and chased the other man down the street. He targeted a second victim who ran for about two blocks. He encountered our victim. Severely wounding him. We had a Quick Response and we literally landed on scene with the gunman standing over our second victim. That wounded man is now in a coma. The 34yearold suspect is under arrest on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. Onto campaign 2016. Trump lashing out at the city of san jose for this. It has burned nearly 100acre sos far. It has been nine months since the valley fire ripped through lake county reducing nearly 2,000 buildings to rubble. Among the structures destroyed, the hot springs resort. And it is still struggling to rise in the ashes but kpix5s Wilson Walker shows us not even a raging fire could destroy the heart of the popular retreat. The fire pretty much came up over the ridge here. Pretty much along all the ridges in all three directions. Reporter before you can imagine a future, there is the painful task of remembering the past. This is where the dressing room was. And on top of that, with the kitchen. Reporter looking back isnt just heartbreaking. Even if you were a frequent visitor here, the landscape left by the fire and debris has made the past unrecognizable. It is hard to imagine how the buildings really fit into the landscape that you see. Reporter from the lodging in the restaurant to the sun decks and the temple. Nearly everything was lost. The degree of destruction was pretty much totaled. Reporter but deep in the conon, hope springs eternal. The waters are still flowing even after the fire, we knew we would survive again. Would reemerge because the heart of the pools survived. Reporter yes, the pools are still here. And in remarkably good shape right down to the railings. Even more encouraging is word that visitors may be back in the water by years end. We are hoping some time this fall, we will be able to reopen. And be able to soak in the pool. Reporter that is the short term goal, managing director says it will take the rest of this decade and it wont be easy. Physically and financially, this will be a huge lift for a modest Nonprofit Community that actually served as one of the areas largest employers. We want to come back not just for us, but for the surrounding county. The entire south lake area. Reporter if you ever fell in love with harbin or know someone who did, you know this is more than just an eccentric give away spot. This is a fountain head for generations of people who came from around the world. While the destruction here was heartbreaking, that love and sense of community will be vital. We have had guests come and visit the gate, park and sit a half hour and turn around and leave. They know they cant come on property, but their connection is so strong they just want to be near it.
