Before heading to the event at the university, Bernie Sanders met with advocates for nevadas solar industry. The vermont senator criticized the decision by nevada regulators to change the rates for rooftop solar customers. He calls the decision incomprehensible. Solar companies in nevada have been laying off workers because of the pending rate change. Regulators decided yesterday to introduce the new rates more slowly. The increase is meant to phase out a subsidy that regulators say traditional customers fellow democratic candidate Hillary Clinton is also in nevada this weekend. She held a rally today in henderson for hundreds of union workers.
