Reno Police Officers are investigating a stabbing downtown. It happened late this morning at the wonder lodge on lake street. One person was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. Police have not said whether anybody has been arrested. Weve learned new details in the last half hour about a fire that caused heavy damage to a fernley home. It broke out around 11 oclock this morning, at a home on dog leg drive. The house was fully involved when firefighters arrived. Investigators say it started on the front porch and spread to the attic. They believe it was set intentionally. A lyon county sheriffs Spokesman Says one person was arrested for arson. Its not without some natural advantages. The crossroads for two highways, an airport many communities would envy and a nearby recreational draw, lahontan reservoir. Yet its languished for most of its history. The recession killed some opportunities. The drought even left the lake dry. Which is why the renovation and reopening of this gas station is a big deal here. Theres talk of expansion of the airport for air freight and there are businesses hoyen recommending steps the state of michigan should take, to get reliable Drinking Water back to flint. Todays recommendations came a day after the Environmental Protection agency told the state and city that their efforts so far, had failed. The agency ordered them to ensure the safe operation of flints Drinking Water system, and the protection of public health. The Flint Water Advisory Task force, says its recommendations are more detailed and comprehensive than what the epa ordered. High levels of lead were found in flints water since the city switched from the detroit municipal system, and began drawing from the flint river as a costsaving measure.
