The deputy, april mires, was charged with providing a firearm to a felon, they both appeared in court today. We broke the story today when Law Enforcement searched a search warrant. Melanie woodrow was on scene as it happened and has new details on the case. Reporter San Francisco sheriffs deputy april myers is accused of disposing a firearm to give it to a convicted felon. This man, antwon fouler who she allegedly had an intimate relationship with in the county jail. She did not give it to him. According to the complaint, she gave it to myers during an alleged burglary after he was released. Myers was questioned on the case. Its reliable and its not something that someone should be convicted of. Reporter yesterday, fbi agents, san Francisco Police officers and San FranciscoDistrict Attorneys Office investigators served a search warrant at myers home. According to the complaint, they found several items myers claimed had been stolen, myers is also facing multiple charges filing a 60,000 Insurance Claim after the alleged burglary. Investigators say they found the alleged weapon in fowlers car, he initially denied having it, then told investigators that myers gave it to him with 2500 to get rid of it because it was fired in myers home in an incident where his finger was grazed. He said they have been friends for years and that fowler stole the gun without her knowledge. Fowler remains in custody, myers was released on a secured bond with conditions she not have contact with fowler or one of her sons who may be involved in the allegations.
