The clerk made a mistake so the information we received is that all charges had been dismissed and accordingly, we released him. The Sheriffs Office says rodriguez has three months left to serve. The clerk did not accurately record what the judge said. Reporter he was serving time related to robbery, watt battery and resisting arrests. One threat . He had an ak47 and he was going to shoot deputies. Reporter the Sheriffs Office says the jail released rodriguez and someone noticed a mistake. A very alert deputy understood he was doing to be sentenced and realized he had been released and wanted to know why. Reporter the Sheriffs Office says rodriguez called the jail last night. There was a Deputy Sheriff told him you need to turn yourself in. Reporter the Sheriffs Office are hopeful they will do just that. This inmate escaped from a work detail and was caught hours later.
