The coroner has identified 35 of the 36 victims and tonight, three decades of roshds, including complaints against the ghost ship and the neighboring property are now public. Reporter we spoke with a man who lived in the ghost ship warehouse and narrowly escaped the fire, he tried to get to the fire extinguisher but there was not enough time. Meanwhile, search and Recovery Efforts are ongoing tonight as the fire chief issued this promise. Its going take as long as its going to take. We are not going to rush the process. A promise from oaklands fire chief to scour the warehouse rubble until they are sure theres no more remains. By the time i got the doors open, flames were starting to engulf my space. As the smoke and flamesen gulfed the building, people struggled to find an exit. I saw one person, i saw her confusion and i saw she was lost and i tried to guide her out as best i could. The fire is believed to have started in the rear of the warehouse. As far as i know, it started in the area where people were not supposed to be. Like it was not an area that was for the party. Investigators are narrowing the focus on to potential causes. The refrigerator is something they are looking at, as a potential source of ignition. Its not been identified as the smoking gun of the this is it. The atf has an electrical engineer on scene and another on the way, they cannot tell how the house was powered. At the night of the incident, pg e was called out to the scene to secure the electrical, to turn it off, whether it was one panel, multiple panels, i do not have that information at this time. When the Fire Department clears the warehouse of victims it will be boarded up and preserved as a crime scene. You can see the lumber on standby for the work. Police say that nearby businesses will reopen toernl morning but international boulevard will likely remain closed longer as crews need to remove the heavy equipment in the area. Dan, it was less than an hour ago the city of oakland released 32 pages of detailed documents related to complaints against the two properties. The most recent just last month. New information and photos showing the records involving the warehouse known as the ghost ship and the vacant lot next door. The documents include complaints, notices of violation and letters from the daughter of the owner of the properties. Theres been three complaints against the warehouse in the past 30 years. Complaints were on december 8th, 2014, constructing house structure without permits. On september 30th, 2014, pallets and Construction Materials blocking the sidewalk. And on vacant lot next to above address lot used as a parking lot and a homeless camping ground. The vacant lot had seven complaints lodged against it, two of them last month. On november 14th, illegal interior building structure and on november 13th, there are a ton of garbage piling up on the property, a lot of items left on the sidewalk. Some of trash was hazardous. The mayor said that building inspectors followed routine procedure in responding to the complaints. After they were denied entry to the warehouse, they sent a request to the building owner, asking for access so they could investigate.
