It started in eugene, oregon where the suspect killed two people, took their black bmw, put them in the trunk and headed south. When the car was spotted a highspeed chase was started. With the owners of the car in the trunk. It ended on highway 1 at cleone. At some point the people in the trunk got out. They are safe. There was manhunt on the ground and from the air. Meantime, abc 7 news is learning details about what led San Francisco investigators to a massive seizure of explosives last week. We obtained this Security Camera video of a powerful blast. You will see it go off in a moment at a broadway strip club several months thaeg started a police probe. It is a story only on abc 7 news. Police began their investigation in the bombmaking operation four months ago. It started when this man, ryan shultz, an employee of center holds nightclub was charged with igniting an explosive device on broadway. Abc 7 news obtained the security video that shows what happened the night of november 13th. Police say shultz is the man seen here placing the device on the metal pipe. He does it while people are walking by. The bomb does not go off for several minutes. Perhaps because of an ignition delay with the bombs wick. All the time, people are walking dangerously close. Then suddenly, the device explodes. Its amazing no one was hurt. When it explodes, theres pieces from the building, possibly from the pipe that sent out like shrapnel. If that were to hit somebody it could really hurt you. Reporter the security video allowed police to identify shultz. That led to sean gunther who investigators say sold him explosives. They arrested gunther at his home and mark or man doe in hi house in pacifica. Police say they were involved in making and selling explosives. Large quantities were found at his home. They believe it could have levelled the house, taken out neighbors houses. Reporter they say they seized nine drums containing 400 pounds of explosive powder. They found even more powder stuffed in 40 smaller containers. There were powerful rockets and 700 barrels in varying sizes and thats not all. We had commercial grade fireworks and over 1300 pounds of those seized as well. Reporter police confiscated a cache of weapons, nine handguns and eight rifles. So many Explosives Police had to store them in three separate warehouses. All three men have been arraigned in court and plead not guilty to all of the charges. Crews in Mountain View were called to a fire that broke out at 3 00 this afternoon on a home at worthham court. It spread quickly to another house. One home had been gutted. The damage to the second home appear to be mostly to the roof. The people in both homes, im glad to tell you got out safely. New details on the case of a man charged with murder in the death of his wife. They say he shot his wife twice last friday and hid her body in a bedroom closet in the familys home. They say the couple has a history of domestic violence. Police in campbell today conclude a san jose teenager was probably killed in self defense. Live. In new Zealand Air Force and United States navy. Received satellite imagery of objects possibly related to the search for the missing aircraft flight mh370. They received an expert assessment of the satellite imagery this morning 20th of march. The images were captured by satellite. They may not be related to the aircraft. The image was provided by the geo Spatial Intelligence Agency debris south of the search area has been the focus of the southern search operation since monday 17th of march. The image is in the vicinity of the search area defined and searched in the past two days. Further images are expected after commercial satellites were redirected to take High Resolution images of the areas of interest. These will be provided in due course. Four aircraft have been reoriented to locate the objects, approximately 2500 kilometers southwest of perth result of the information. A Royal Australian, a ryan aircraft arrived in the area this afternoon. Further, three aircraft have been tasked by rcc australia to the area later today including a royal new Zealand Air Force oryan and u. S. Navy poe sigh dont aircraft. The second australian oryan departed pierce after 2 p. M. This afternoon and should be on scene at 6 00 p. M. This afternoon. New zealand oryan is due at 4 00 p. M. This afternoon and should be on scene at 8 p. M. A Royal Australian Hercules Aircraft has been tasked to drop data marker buoys. These marker buoys assist rcc australia by providing information about water movement, to assist in drift modelling. They will provide an ongoing Reference Point if the task of relocating the objects becomes protracted. A merchant ship that responded on monday is expected to arrive in the area about 6 00 p. M. , having been diverted by rcc australia. Royal Australian Navy warship is en route to the area but is some days away. She is equipped to recover and from mh370. The focus is to continue the search operation with all available ships and aircraft. The ships and aircraft are searching for any signs of the missing aircraft. Weather conditions are moderate in the southern indian ocean where the search is taking place. However, Poor Visibility has been reported and this will hamper both air and satellite efforts. And continues to hold grave concerns for the passengers and crew on board. I must emphasize these objects may be very difficult to locate and may not be related to the search. Happy to take any questions. What do they appear to be . The objects are relatively indistinct on the image rhode island i dont profess to be an expert on assessing the imagery but those who are expert indicate they are credible sighting. The indication to me is objects that are of a reasonable size and probably a wash with water. Moving up and down out of the surface. Like the size of a basketball or seat cushion or much larger. Much larger than that. The largest image ive seen is assessed as being 24 meters. Another one that is smaller than that. And a number of other images in the general area of the biggest one. The aircraft is reported on the weather on scene. Thats where i get the information there is Poor Visibility in the area. It is beyond the implications of that separately. [ inaudible ] there have been no sightings yet. [ inaudible ] the most likely scenario is an aircraft will find, if it is findable, and report back an accurate gps position and task the ship to proceed to the area and attempt to see it. That would be the first chance to get a close up look at whatever the objects might be progressly advance whether they are associated with the search or not. [ inaudible ] we were provided by the australian a g. O. This morning may ask to speak of the imagery. It is captured by satellite passing over various areas. The task of analyzing imagery is quite difficult. It requires drawing down frames and going frame by frame. At the moment, this imagery was discovered to reveal possible object that might indicate a debris field. We have passed the information. Is it fair to say all right. The batteries on the black boxes only last and send out a ping or signal for about 30 days time. So that time is running down quickly to be able to find that aircraft using the black boxes.
