Reporter police and fire authorities believe the man you see in this sketch is responsible for setting a string of downtown fires in the last four days. These fires must stop. Your san jose firefighters offer up to 10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for these fires. Reporter the Fire Department says the suspect may not be acting alone. The latest blaze destroyed most of this victorian home on st. John street about 4 20 saturday morning. The elderly couple living here escaped safely. Across the street, surveillance cameras on eric kupfers house caught a man walking by four times shortly before the fire started. At least once, the man is seen holding something in his hand. But to come by four times is kind of suspicious, especially in the gap of the first time we see him is a little after 3 00. Reporter firefighters arrived on scene minutes after the man is seen on camera for the last time. The Fire Department used this video and other surveillance clips to come up with a sketch of a thin white or hispanic man in his 20s or 30s, 6 feet to 62 wearing baggy clothes of the his motive unknown. I dont know what makes this particular person tick. They talk about things like revenge and spite. Reporter arson investigators say eight fires have been intentionally set in a sixblock area of san jose, all started from the outside, including this house fire on thursday on san antonio street. Two residents got out safely. On wednesday, a portable unit at this Baptist Church also on san antonio street was torched. It is alarming. I dont want to be the next victim, thats for sure. Reporter but now concerned neighbors are on alert. Fire officials urged downtown homeowners to keep debris away from your house and keep your outside lights on. In san jose, kevin bernard. New details involving a deadly house fire in palo alto. It broke out at a home on embarcadero. They found two bodies inside. They said theyll have to wait until tomorrow to go inside because its too hot. A caretaker and his wife lived there. They have not been identified. San jose police is investigating the second homicide of the year. A passerby called police after discovering a mans body on a sidewalk. It appeared the victim was stabbed to death. His identity has not been rhee leased. No word on a suspect or possible motive. Authorities are investigating a hit and run after a tractortrailer jackknifed on the onramp. The on ramp reopened just before 2 30 this morning. There are 11 confirmed deaths from the flu in the bay area. As the virus spreads, more people are scrambling to get a flu shot. They sponsored a free flu clinic. While greens Kaiser Permanente and an urgent care clinic were running low yesterday and waiting on to get supplies. But there was plenty of vaccine available in todays clinic in san rafael. I would like to tell patients that the flu shot you receive is not just for you but also for your friends and family. He saw the structure wobbling in the gusty winds and caught the entire project falling apart in a matter of seconds. Thankfully, no one was injured. For the first time were hearing from the brother of the san jose pilot whose plane crashed in idaho last month killing all five people aboard. Dylans brother, his nephew and his wife and his niece and her fiance all died in the crash. Fremont police say they are making big progress in putting the brakes on side shows in their city.
