The law says if you see an animal trapped inside a car on a hot day you can break a car window to set it free, under certain circumstances. For example, if youve already tried to call 911 or animal control and you cant find another way in. Instead of going to a landfill were taking it to a composter. It goes to a special composting facility that turns it into topsoil. The program has been successful in europe for 20 years. New legislation will help protect whales that get caught in crab trap lines. Last year a record 61 whales were entangled in the west coast. This pace is set to beat the record. Environmentalists blame abandoned crab pots. The new law will pay fishermen who reel in the abandoned gear.
