Attorney and the Drug Enforcement administration are joining the investigation. It turns out people close to the pop star called in a mill valley doctor to help prince with a drug addiction. It was the doctors son who found princes body and made the 911 call. Eva pilgrim has the latest. Reporter the very day he died, princes inner circle was trying to get help for his addiction to pain pills. The wednesday night before his death, dr. Howard cornfeld was contacted, who is an expert in Pain Medicine addiction. Did prince know about the enter diction . Yes. Reporter he got to paisley park at 9 30 thursday morning. He was carrying a drug to help deal with addiction withdrawal. When he arrived, they went looking for prince. Staff representatives apparently found him in an elevator unconscious. One of the Staff Members started screaming. Reporter the plan was to give the medicine to a local doctor who was supposed to see prince later the same morning. But instead according to his lawyer, andrew cornfeld called 911. Prince was pronounced dead at 10 09 a. M. , just too late for prince to agree to california for longterm care under the doctors supervision. Sources telling us prince was found by his bodyguard. Princes personal assistant was also there that morning. Now, andrew cornfeld was carrying a drug used to treat opiate addiction. A few days early, prince suffered an opiate overdose and his plane was diverted to moline, illinois on the way to minneapolis. Less than a week later, prince reached out to the mill valley clinic. The police chief is requiring the officer to carry three foot long batons. This is calls involving Homeless People and people with weapons other than a gun. We now have a better understanding of what happened at a San Jose Health center this morning that led to a chemical spill, haz mat response and sent seven people to the hospital. It was a little scary to see these people out here. Scary to be that close to a building not knowing. Reporter just before 10 00 this morning, 17 people were exposed to a chemical called creosole. Of the 17, five adults and two children were transported to the hospital. It could have happened to us or anybody. And its so close. Reporter Health CenterOfficials Say the exposure happened when employees noticed a strange odor coming from a cap being worn by one of the dentists. Employees discovered a one ounce bottle of knocked over. When a dentist put a cap on her head, she was exposed to it and other people could smell it. Reporter Staff Members called 911 and executed the evacuation plan. Late this afternoon, the San Jose Fire Department confirmed that none of the injuries were life threatening. Doctors at Childrens Hospital in palo alto have put her on a heart pump to prevent a failure. The average wait for a heart transplant is six to eight months. Its almost hard to say in words. Its like a feeling thats just overwhelming to think some day shes going to get a donor heart and well be able to go home and shell be able to live a normal life. I already have so much gratitude for the family that eventually from a tragedy will give her the gift of life. While she waits for a new heart, doctors say hanna loves to Wander Around the hospital and say hi to everyone she meets. Check this out. A robot has successfully performed operations on four pigs. Abc7 news was at the oakland zoo as three of the six new river otters frolicked in the water. Three more were born to another mom. Zookeepers only planned to mate dad with one otter, but love found a way. We didnt want to have both at the same time, because we knew it would be overwhelming for us.
