This after a Convenience Store clerk was shot and killed early this morning. It happened near 16th street and southern. Detectives right now looking at key evidence in this crime, Justin Pazera is there with the newest information. Justin. Reporter yeah, chris, i want to show you something. Eleven, you can see those surveillance cameras. There are six just on this parking lot, plus the ones inside that story. Phoenix Police Telling me the cameras are Crystal Clear and thats going to be key because this actually started in this parking lot here at the 7 eleven. The armed robber made contact with one of the clerks, forced that clerk inside the store, demanded that he take all of that money out of the cash register. They demanded both clerks, then to a backroom. They were on the floor. Then something happened in that backroom, phoe arent sure what happened but he shot one of those suspects or excuse me, one of those clerks. That body still inside. The other clerk was able to jump up, run outside with the suspect chasing after him. They believe that he ran on foot. So there is a lot of crime scene tape here on southern avenue right now just because they want to make sure that they go through all of this and make sure that there isnt any evidence, but they dont have a really good clear description of the guy at this point. They just say that he has dark and he had his face covered. If you know anything, call phoenix police. We are live in phoenix, Justin Pazera, abc15. Justin, from that crime scene, lets go to another one happening right now as an officer was involved in a shooting late last night near third street and mcdowell. A man who was walking his dog tried to intervene in that fight. That man ended up getting into a fight with the other guy who originally started all of this and got pretty roughed up. Well, the fight then moved to the main house with the guys mom. When officers arrived on the scene, they say the man in question here ignored their commands to stop fighting, he was also armed with a knife. Well, officers fired one shot, that man has a nonlife threatening injury. The person who was walking their dog, they are expected to recover, danielle. Abc15s katie connor live at sky harbor with reaction from some of those stranded passengers. I guess they are not happy, katie. Reporter no, you can imagine they are very frustrated. But, dan, the Computer System is up and running. But at the peak of this outage, they couldnt even change the boards here at the airports to tell passengers their flights were cancelled or delays so delayed so they showed up and got the bad news. This is a long line outside the Delta Airlines ticket counter early this morning. Now, we learned that this actually happened because of the power outage in atlanta and thats when it took out the system, not just here in the u. S. But across the world. Theres more than 10,000 cancelled flights at the peak of this outage, delta grounded flights for about six hours and the passengers we talked to them, some are frustrated, positive. If you get mad its not going to do you any good. Its not going to change the outcome of whats happening. So if youre positive, youre happy, things are going to work out in your favor. Not having answers is, you know thats not the expectation you have when you fly with a major carrier. Reporter now, this isnt the only disturbance here at sky harbor. In just an hour southwest flight attendants will hit the to grab the attention of the airlines management. It will weaken a little bit but we are still going to see and then become that low system there but we are still going to see that push in moisture. That is going to come right up to us, collide with the moisture we already have in the air and that is going to bring our rain chances up a lot. We are staying dry today so you wont need that umbrella. But you may want to pack it with you tomorrow. When those rain chances bump up to 20 , isolated at this point. Looks like the best day is going to be wednesday and possibly into thursday. Talking one to 2 inches here in the valley. So quickly i wanted to show you this here, 109 for us today, very toasty, 105 is average. We drop below that by tomorrow and then the system that we just saw the rain chances bringing us much cooler air on wednesday and thursday but the mugginess is going to be up there so it will still feel very, very muggy and moist outside during those few days.
