That security has not changed. That fire started when a car fire spread to a nearby hillside alongside interstate 80. All of this happening before 1 00 in the afternoon. It eventually burned about 40 acres. It caused slight damage to four homes. Vallejo firefighters say the nearby fire station 26, which has been shuttered since 2010 would have come in it handy if it were staffed. And for the peninsula up to the mid80s there but the Mission District nice and cool, 73 degrees and some upper 80s, low 90s again for the north bay. As we head into the weekend this hot area of High Pressure begins to break down. The jet stream starts to bring back some Cool Temperatures but that may also fire up a few thunderstorms over the sierra. Well be watching that. As we look at San Franciscos sevenday forecast well be in the lower 70s for today and tomorrow then cooler heading into next week. That cooling trend for the inland valleys and were going to have to come down still from that high heat. Were making some progress here as we watch the temperatures go into the low 80s by next week. Might have some concerns if youre heading to the coast today. Highway 17 is currently closed or at least blocked. Traffic moves well. A fenderbender highway 101. Not a major concern. Palo alto Police Looking for this man they say was driving without pants. They say he expose d himself to two girls in different incidents in palo alto. The first incident happened near Jordan Middle School wednesday afternoon. The second just about a mile away. Right now authorities still trying to piece together the moments leading up to a teenaged girlsly fall down the cliffs of San Francisco beach yesterday. Lifeguard used a jet ski to reach the woman in foggy conditions and transport her to waiting paramedics. She did not survive. All of this unfolding yesterday near the legion of honor at lands end. The area has many hazards. We do have a lot of people that lose their footing, fall from cliffs, some ocean rescues, people going into the water, again, to try to beat the heat. The waters out here are treacherous. Rescuers say the woman suffered multiple injuries and fractures on her fall. Her identity has not yet been released. New details on breaking news we first brought you yesterday morning. A deadly double shooting in brentwood turned out to be a botched Home Invasion robbery. The homeowner caught two armed men to break into his home wednesday night. They say the shooting appears to be in selfdefense. A neighbors surveillance camera captured some of the chaos. He says one of the suspects, robber, died in his front yard. He had a mask on his face, like out of a tshirt, the eyes and nose and mouth cut out, gloves, hoodie, jacket, and he was bleeding out of his mouth. The names of the suspects have not been released. As for the homeowner he was voluntarily detained, later released. He will not face charges. New this morning flooding that were seeing here in the north bay is new video from marin county and its king tides that are to blame. Looking at all that standing water on highway 101 at the ramp which had to be closed in both directions for just a bit overnight. Thankfully that flooding has since subsided. If you plan on driving through this morning, things should be all clear, mike. Some might have been looking for a little pool. No major problems around the bay and what has disappeared from the sensors and the roadway is that full blockage of highway 17 now reinstating the traffic flow down to summit road. The two big rigs have cleared and folks can head to the coast on highway 17 heading to the n santa cruz side. 92 will take you to Half Moon Bay. Lots of coastal routes. Cooler today. A smooth drive down the east shore freeway. Slowing through berkeley and across the richmond to san rafael bridge. A quick look at the Golden Gate Bridge. Theres a little bit of moisture. You might need to use the windshield wipers. A lot cooler and the crash north of here at the he Robin Williams tunnel has cleared from lanes. Thats a cooler look. Isnt it amazing. What a difference. We have the pride festival happening for tomorrow. We also are looking at some great weather. It really doesnt get better than this. Were talking about highs in the low 70s right up to 70 degrees by 3 00 and then as we go into the afternoon were going to see a few more clouds mixing in. Well be all bright and sunny throughout the day. You still may need sunscreen. To sonoma, the raceway, temperatures that will be slightly cooler to start but then by noontime were up to 80 degrees. Fremont Police Looking for more victims after apparent chain snatchings. Kenyon thomas seen here was arrested over the weekend for allegedly ripping the chains off two victims earlier this month. Police are looking for additional victims after those chain snatchings. Some dramatic new video showing a texas child being tossed out of a moving car.
