Its only six inches away from flowing over the spillway for the first time in 11 years which could mean flooding in nearby creeks. Were out here about 26, 28 years ago, when the spillway first went over. We came out here and it looked like niagara falls. The latest storm toppling trees throughout the south bay like this one on park lane in santa clara. It was a close call. Very happy that it fell to the street, because my bedroom is right there, and my partner was still in bed when it fell. So it could have been a disastrous situation. And this massive eucalyptus went crashes down on park avenue and another hitting a house, crushing that pickup truck. No one was hurt. Weve seen a lot of damage this winter, but nothing like this. This is along interstate 15 in San Bernardino county. Did you see that . The rainsoaked freeway collapsed, and that fire truck completely swallowed. Luckily, firefighters already had gotten out of it before that happened. Whew and shock and surprise there as a car disappears into a 20foot sinkhole in Southern California. The whole actually two cars. It happened in studio city. Good news, firefighters were able to rescue the drivers. No one was hurt. And a look now at the Los Angeles River rising after all of that heavy rain. In San Bernardino county, a massive landslide. The length of three football fields. Video captured just as it came down. Look at that. There is concern that this weekends continuing storm could make things worse in that area. And despite the continuing storms california state water officials feel confident the spillway at oroville dam will hold. They say water continues to be released, and that right now the lake is about 40 feet below the overflow height. Lets be clear. By about 9 30, you can actually see the majority of the rain has finally moved east leaving behind a lot of these cloudy skies, a lot of that cloud cover, and, of course, we are going to see some breezy to windy conditions that will remain. But fastforward through tonight and into sunday morning. Ahead of that second storm, or third storm system, rather, we will see a trough that begins to bring rain along the north bay first. Starting napa, then San Francisco, along the coastline, well start seeing rain at about 5 30. This is ahead of that Atmospheric River slamming the bay area by sunday night into monday morning. So fastforward through 10 00 a. M. , and an areas near san mateo, walnut creek and oakland begin to see rain, but look at about 4 00, 5 00, still seeing a possibility of seeing moderate to heavy downpours. We will probably keep that icon of rain for tomorrow throughout your entire sunday. But this is where the heaviest downpours come into play. Monday at about 2 00 a. M. , you can actually see the orange and red. Where we see a bit of a bullseye also in the napa area as well, and this is actually that strong Atmospheric River that originally was very focused in Southern California yesterday. Now well see the Atmospheric River pounding over the north bay monday night into monday morning as well. Sunday monday, rather, 7 00 a. M. , look at this. You can see livermore area and san jose, south bay, really getting slammed at about 7 00 a. M. Smack dab in the middle of your Early Morning commute on monday. Also expecting to see winds pick up as well which will make for dangerous travel. Already seen downed power lines and that could, of course, cause Power Outages in the area.
