Lets get to an update, breaking news weve been following all morning long. A crew some discovery in the east bay. Three bodies were found at the scene of an overnight fire. Investigators say they may have been murders. Today in the bays Damian Trujillo is on site. Investigators are saying this was a triple homicide . Reporter thats right, sam. In fact, more officers arrived on scene a short while ago. Possible relief for the officers who have been here overnight. The call came in just after midnight on dunbar drive near 98th avenue in east coke land. There was a fire involved in the home where police responded. We are hearing unconfirmed reports of shots being fired here at the scene. Still trying to get confirmation from Oakland Police on that incident that we are hearing about at the crime scene. This came after midnight and police do have one person who they have in custody right now questioning that person over at police headquarters. We are waiting to get more information from the police spokesperson, but we understand with all of the protests on the streets in oakland for the last two nights, its been quite a busy couple of days for the spokes people. Well try to get more information either from commanders at the scene or the spokesperson who should arrive on location any minute now, were being told by the officers on location. Thats why Property Owners boarded up windows that werent boarded up were. The crowd last night was much smaller, in the several hundreds as opposed to the several thousand on wednesday. The protesters rallied against the election of donald trump for about two hours at frank ogawa plaza, and then started their march down broadway, raising fears of more violence and vandalism. A pastor stood on the Street Corner and begged people to keep their cool while another man made this passionate plea. Who cares about trump . This is oakland streets, my town. A south bay man hospitalized for more than six months following an assault in san jose has died. 48yearold Tim Cheeseman initially told a friend he was assaulted on april 18th. His condition worsened the next day. He was hospitalized with lifethreatening injuries. Days later detectives identified james lamont as a suspect and arrested him. Cheeseman was initially expected to survive and spent the last few months in an Incentive Care unit. His death marks the areas 43rd homicide of the year. Helping Homeless Veterans in San Francisco, mayor ed leanne nounsed 75 new homes will be dedicated this fall and winter. According to the San Francisco examiner, the city has housed more than 700 Homeless Veterans and there are still hundreds of others still in need of a place. That plaque honoring 163 San Francisco men killed in the vietnam war has been on San Franciscos embarcadero for 15 years. As you can see, the plaque has suffered from weather, vandalism and lack of maintenance. Now its getting a new home. Able to come here and read that name and say we remember is really important. Very important. The American Legion War Memorial Commission is having the plaque moved to a more fitting location inside the war memorial building. The plaque has been recast and five new names have been added bringing the total to 168. Very powerful tribute. An update to breaking news and a deadly morning in the east bay where police are investigating a triple homicide connected to this fire in oakland. Today in the bays Damian Trujillo live near hopkins and dunbar drive. It appears this may have something to do with the fire that started in the garage . Reporter thats the rumor in dunbar drive in oakland. Officers are still here at the scene. This is a Newer Development in oakland off 98th avenue just east of highway 880. Several streets have been cordoned off. Here is what we know so far. There were reports of gunshots in the neighborhood when officers arrived the home they were responding to was on fire. Firefighters arrived and doused the flames at that point, but they did discover three bodies on the scene making this a triple homicide. They have one person in custody questioning that person over at police headquarters. One neighbor came out earlier today and said he was also being kept in the dark, not allowed to come out of his home and actually did not know how he was going to get to work. Officers were able to lead him away from the crime scene at this point. Still waiting for official confirmation as to what may have led up to this triple homicide, the spokesperson for the Oakland Police department has not arrived on the scene. The commander is not talking either. Thats what weve been able to get. Talking to some of the witnesses here, those conversations have led to the information we have right now. The protests turned into a riot with demonstrators kicking cars, shattering windows, even knocking out power. In oakland two people were arrested when protesters blocked traffic on highway 80. About 7,000 people marched from frank ogawa plaza. Some got violent for a Third Straight night. That was not the majority. Some did throw rocks, bottles and fireworks. From the streets to the schools, thousands of students across the bay area walked out of class yesterday to protest the election results. Their rallying cry not my president. It was during the rally that he allegedly used profanity. The students responded with applause, but the administration isnt clapping. The students have taken the protests online. Theyve changed the message. Nearly 4000 signed a change. Org petition asking for reinstatement of principal morales. Over at Concord High School academy there was an altercation between a student and teacher where witnesses say the student hit the teacher after the teacher slapped a phone out of the students hand. There were three arrests in Contra Costa County as the thousands of students were peaceful until they walked onto 680. We dont come here to sell drugs, we dont come here to rape anyone, we dont come to do anything bad. We come here to work and get an education. Since donald trump, i dont feel safe being a muslim in this country. Hundreds of students walked through traffic on the streets of San Francisco and also across the bay, took over oakland mayor libby schaafs press conference about violent protests there the night before. It looks like from the traffic pattern its past the sky way. The lanes arent block, but a lot of activity. Serious, a deadly crash there. Youll make the cutover toward the carquinez bridge. As we look at the east bay times, 16 minutes. A little slowing for the east bay freeway. And the buildup at the bay bridge toll plaza. The live shot filled in for all lanes. The fast track lanes are moving well. Well look towards sunol as well. Pockets of fog is what we see. So we do have that. Right to breaking weve been falling out of oakland. A house fire put police on the scene investigating a trip homicide. Theres still Yellow Police tape out there. Investigators are casing the area trying to learn more information. This is what it loojd like only hours ago. Admitted night actually near hawkins and dunbar drives. Police found three bodies inside the home that was on fire. Police tell us someone is being questioned in that case. Questions about security at sjc after a trespasser got onto the airfield. Police say jerry hyde somehow made his way onto the restricted airfield around 1 00 yesterday morning. An electrician working on the airfield called police. This is the sixth airport breach there in the last 18 months. It comes after several upgrades to security including higher fences. Developing news out of the east bay and another night of protests in oakland as people voice their anger over the outcome of the president ial election. Although this version last night was decidedly more peaceful than the previous two nights. Hundreds of protesters gather for a third night of demonstrations. At one point they moved onto interstate 508 and blocked both sides of the freeway. Protesters used a similar tactic in san jose where they blocked traffic on highway 87 near the airport. This was shortly after 9 00 last night. Video posted to social media showed the traffic mess as the crowd blocked the highway. The protesters eventually marched to the mlk library by city hall. Get ready for more traffic in San Francisco . What . Van ness avenue is undergoing the major overall. Starting today crews will be at the intersection of van ness and broadway where theyll be reconfiguring the southbound lanes. It should be completed by 2019.
