There were four people inside this home as it burned, some of whom were elderly. Three were able to get out. As the flames consumed the garage, as you can see right behind me, and started to spread into the interior of the home, there was a fourth person who was stuck inside. And this morning, the San Jose Fire Department credits the quick thinking of a neighbor for helping that fourth person get out of this home alive. Remarkably no one was hurt. The Fire Department believes the fire started in the garage around 11 00 last night, took off super fast. The garage was fully involved as the first 11 call came in. There was stuff popping and hissing. I sat up, opened my window and you could hear people screaming. I took a deeper look and my brother came in and said, i think theres a fire outside. I went into his room and looked out his window and you could see the flames and the smoke. So we ran out here. Reporter the San Jose Fire Department ended up calling for three alarms. Took 80 minutes to put out the fire, knocked down around 12 20 this morning. The fire, as you can see, destroyed the garage, spread into the interior. At best, the damage inside is moderate, it could be as bad as severe according to the Fire Department. Once the sun comes up, an investigator will try to figure out the cause. The people who live here did tell the Fire Department there was nothing unusual going on inside that garage when that fire started at 11 00 last night. Police say four men in hoodies approach the victims in a School Parking lot about 3 15 in the afternoon when someone opened fire. One female victim is in Critical Condition still. Three male victims suffered nonlifethreatening injuries. That shooting sparked chaos on campus as authorities believe there could have been an active shooter and frantic parents and grandparents were worried about their kids. I received a call from my son that there was a shooting at the school. So i came to get my grandson. Investigators say the shooter specifically targeted one of the students and that the shooting was not random. Counselors and beefedup security will be on hand for students later today. Our Investigative Unit obtained a memo ordering that training. This follows several highprofile reports of harassment cases within the department. As we first reported, those cases include an investigation that led to the transfer of an entire command staff amidst allegations that a female firefighter was harassed and hazed. A man is dead after a pipe bomb explodes inside an east bay clinic. Investigators say the man brought the explosive in himself. Witnesses report seeing a man in a wheelchair enter the clinic about 6 30 last night. He was carrying what appeared to be a pipe bomb which he then detonated in the lobby. Police say theyre investigating his death as an apparent suicide. No other injuries were reported. The vision reveals this is an isolated incident where an individual took his own life. The Alameda County bomb squad was called to the clinic as a precaution. No other explosives were found. Dozens and dozens of people arrested in the bay area as part of a sweep to crack down on human trafficking. Amidst all of that, several children were rescued during the sweep. Operation Cross Country x ran for three days this week. During that time authorities investigated hotels and truck stops and street corners. This is a look at some of the areas impacted, where they were conducted. Here in the bay area six children were rescued, 135 women were arrested for prostitution and 63 men were arrested. Sfpd is still looking for the four suspects they believe are responsible for the shooting that took place in the parking lot of june Jordan High School in San Francisco. At the time of the shooting it was unclear if this was yet another active shooter situation. They authority this was an active shooter baurz they saw the victims inside the school. They immediately started to do a search by search, immediately looking for the suspects. Reporter it turns out this wasnt an active shooter situation. Rather, police say, the four suspects who walked up to the School Wearing black hoodies were looking for a specific student. When this took place, three of the four victims who were shot ran inside the school with those gunshot wounds. There was a fourth victim who walked into a Police Station hours later. All of them taken to the hospital for the injuries. This caused fear for those with loved ones at the school. I received a call from my son there was a shooting at the school. So i came to get my grandson. Reporter three of the male students are expected to recover from their nonlifethreatening injuring. There is a female victim who does have critical injuries. Might not be raising as many eyebrows if not for the fact that critics show it a symptom of the loan yen see shown by judge aaron persky who sentenced brock turner a judge ruled keenan smith should serve time in jail. He served a month for Domestic Assault and battery. Attorneys say hes been caught up in the crossfire of criticism against persky who opponents believe displayed a pattern of treating athletes differently including former stanford swimmer brock turner. Lets go to nbc bay areas bob redell with details on a dramatic fire. Reporter good morning, sam and laura. It took place here at this home in south san jose. You can see the fire burned through most of the garage and into the house where four people who were inside when this fire started around 11 00 last night, some of whom were elderly. We know three were able to get out on their own, but the share Fire Department credits one neighbor who went in and pulled the fourth person out. Remarkably everyone got out okay. This fire moved super fast according to the san jose fire captain that we heard from. It was so fast that the fire was fully involved when that 911 call came in. The Fire Department as i mentioned arrived here a little after 11 00. It took about 80 minutes to put this fire out. It wasnt until 12 20 they had knocked it down. The fire started in the garage, did spread into the house and did damage the house. Whether its destroyed or severe damage, its still too early to tell. The Fire Department coming out shortly to try to find out what caused this. The residents told the Fire Department there was nothing unusual inside the garage when the fire started. Police say four men in hoodies approached the victims in the School Parking lot around 3 15 when someone opened fire. One female victim is in Critical Condition. A man has died after a pipe bomb explodes inside an east bay clinic. Police say the man brought the explosive in himself.
