More than 5,000 people expected to show up throughout the day. In the club, still pretty empty and that will change pretty soon. A new feature a cafe that shows a roasted pig and roasted pork waffles and vegy frittata. The 16th year of the event and organizers say this truck represents what San Francisco is all about. Drawing people even from out of town. Something that definitely captures the San Francisco spirit of artists and, you know, love and good times and music. Everybody is coming here to see their favorite deejay. Now, its not just about the party here. Theres a food drive for the San Francisco and marin food banks and people are asked to bring that. 16 years ago, thats the event created and they will match any cash donations that people give. Last year that was 10,000. So, in all, this event had 20,000 that was sent to the food bank. So, a lot of good will here. Not just a party. Well be here throughout the rest of the morning. Kris sanchez joins us with some of the more noticeable laws. Well, Governor Brown signed more than 800 new laws into effect. One of them allowing you to have some beer tastings at your local farmers markets and also allows you to let your lawn go brown, even if your Homeowners Association frowns upon it. Three New California laws also center on guns. First, concealed guns are not allowed on any School Campus from Elementary Schools to university campuses. This applies to people who are allowed to carry concealed weapons, as well. Also, toy guns have to look more like toys and less like the real thing. The push comes as the results of thet shooing death of andy of santa rosa. The boy who was shot by a sheriff deputy. The air soft rifle that boy was carrying was, in fact, a real gun. The triggers have to be brightly colored in addition to the tips being brightly colored, as well. After a shooting rampage in family members have more power to keep guns out of the hands of relatives that they believe can lash out violently. In the mass shooting the gunmans Mother Told Police that he had made violent threats but police couldnt really do a lot with that information. Now, with the judges order, they could seize a persons weapons for 21 days, even without that persons prior knowledge of that restraining order. Also new laws related to your paycheck, essentially. San Francisco Police officers right now investigating a new years eve shooting that occurred outside of a police station. Police say someone shot a man in the back outside of the mcdonalds across the street from sfpd station on fillmore. Emergency crews rushed him to a hospital. Investigators are interviewing witnesses and checking Surveillance Video to see if they can find out more information. Pg ande crews hope to have a gas leak restored some time this morning. A natural gas leak from an underground pipe was discovered about 5 00 last night on tamarac drive. The leak cut off service to 70 homes. Crews stopped that leak about 9 30 last night and repairs are under way. Again, they hope to have gas back on in the neighborhood later this morning. The sinkhole opened up yesterday morning in San Franciscos valley will continue to create headaches this morning and into the weekend. It was temporarily patched, but it turns out the job is far from done. That sinkhole opened up at the intersection of 24th and church right on the muni line. Crews cant fix it right now because they dont have the proper Safety Equipment to do that. Final repairs on the sinkhole will be postponed until tomorrow. Theyre still trying to figure out a cause of the sewer failure. 6 06 right now. Residents in one north bay neighborhood being warned about a potential danger in the water drawn from private wells. The press democrat reports water from two wells in the canon manor neighborhood tested positive this week for e. Coli. Those levels are said to be extremely high. The Property Owners have been ordered not to use the wells. The Sonoma County Health Department says no one has been sickened from drinking that contaminated water. A key ruling next week could have a ruling on the super bowl. Trying to stop the city of santa clara from turning their field next to levi stadium into an nfl media center next months super bowl. Asked a judge to sign off on a temporary restraining order that would force the nfl to stay away from those fields. The leak says otherwise the kids will be displaced. We learned that a lot of heavy equipment would go on the fields. That the fields would basically be ruined. The city says it made a commitment to the nfl and found alternate soccer fields for the club to use. But the soccer players say those alternatives arent good enough. A judge is expected to issue a ruling on wednesday. It is 6 07. If you plan on having a Tailgate Party at levi stadium ahead of super bowl l, youre going to have to get creative. The nfl is prohibiting grills of any kind, setting up tents or eating or drinking outside of your vehicle. The league cites fans safety as the reason for the decision. Ban conceal weapons on campuses and require toy guns to look less real and allow police to seize a persons weapons if they made violent threats. New laws that could affect your pay check. The minnm wage is 10 an hour, a dollar more than it was just yesterday. Governor brown said this is an attempt to help working families close that gap between the rich and the poor. And if an employer does not pay his or her workers minimum wage or otherwise, the state labor commissioner can now put a lien on that employers property until that employer pays up. It will be easier for women to find out whether theyre getting the same pay for the same work that their male counterparts do. It was already the law of the land that women have to make the same in california, but this new law makes it easier for women to find out what that equal pay actually is. No longer can women or men be punished for asking around, talking to their colleagues about what they make. And all students must be fully vaccinated before entering Public Schools. No exemption for personal or religious beliefs. There is a small exemption for medical reasons. Now, this is change that comes after that measles outbreak. That started with an unvaccinated child visit to disneyland. It is a law that could affect bout 80,000 children who currently have belief exemptions. Now, again, only a medical exemption would be allowed if they were going to Public School or private school and home schooled, that is their business. The next time you go to your local farmers market, you could do a little beer tasting. That is now allowed. Lastly, paris canceled its usual new years firework display but the turned up for festivities ahid heightened security. Just hours before one of the largest firework shows a fire ravaged a high rise in dubai. More than a dozen people were injured as they rushed to escape the flames. Witnesses say the entire of the building, you dont see it here, just the fireworks. But youve surely seen that video caught fire in a matter of minutes. Fiery debris could be seen falling from the luxury building throughout the night. People were stuck 48 floors up in the air. Just below, thousands of people gathered on the streets.
