San jose police were first called to kooser road where a person was stabbed, and then carjacked. It felt surreal, and it felt good knowing that i worked hard for something and accomplished it you really did, dev i know you were in the spelling bee a couple times before. You kept at it go you did you imagine in your wildest dreams that you would win the whole thing . Ive definitely imagined it before, but like i still cant wrap my head around that it actually happened. You know whats amazing about you, one of the first times you went into the spelling bee you finished in the 50s. In 2021 you finished in the 70s. I think a lot of kids might have thought, you know what, i dont know that ill be able to win this thing but for you, it was different. So what gave you the confidence to think this time might be the ti time it probably came from my family and my parents because i feel like they gave me confidence to keep going you know, its a lot about what you know and how hard you study, which you clearly have. But its also about how you keep your cool. Yeah. On that stage did you have any techniques or strategies, you know, to not lose it when the pressures really on . Yeah. I guess just focusing on only your word because some other people in the round might get words that you dont know, but that doesnt really matter its kind of your word that matters. Dev, i know that you worked hard, you studied ten hours a day. When you werent studying for the spelling bee and werent busy doing that, like what do you do for fun well, i play the cello. I play tennis. I like to read, and i hang out with friends i heard you like wordle, and i love wordle, too did you already do it today . Dont give it away, but im curious. No. Okay. One person is dead after a police chase ended in a crash in brentwood yesterday around 7 00. Investigators say an officer made a normal traffic stop and during that stop a suspect took off, leading officers on a pursuit. The driver then went off the road before crashing. The person died at the scene. An investigation is under way. Now, the officer who made that stop said the suspect showed signs of being under the influence. Police are addressing a deadly crime spree in the south bay that left three people dead and three others wounded. Kris sanchez will have more details coming up in our midday wscast. Wscast.
