Antitrump protests breaking out for a Third Straight night in cities and states across the country. This as we learn more about the president elects plans for Transition Team and future. Nbcs katy tur has the latest. Reporter overnight, antitrump protests across the nation. In portland, oregon, police in riot gear confronted an angry crowd. One person shot and wounded at the march. It is unclear if the shooting is related to the protest. Angry crowds also taking to the streets of new york, atlanta and l. A. In miami, they blocked a causeway. Stopping traffic. Demonstrators took to the streets of iowa, colorado and tennessee as well. But none of it is stopping the flurry of activity in trump tower. What is on the agenda . Transition. Reporter step one, what is a Trump Administration and what does it look like . We feel who can do the job. Reporter trumps team announcing mike pence is taking over the transition from embattled new jersey governor chris christie. He stays on as vice chairman along with rudy giuliani. Don jr. And eric and ivanka and Jared Kuschner named to the Transition Team. It suggests there is not a separati separation. Reporter and swirling around the chief of staff. The person in charge of running the white house and the path between the west wing and capitol hill. They will tell the president what he needs to know. Not what he necessarily wants to know. Are you going to make sure the people with preexisting conditions are still covered . Yes, because it happens to be one of the strongest assets. Also children living with parents for an extended period. Reporter trump said during the thursday oval office meeting, president obama asked him to reconsider his opposition. The challenge facing mr. Trump figuring out what a replacement plan would look like. And with little or no government experience, the next three months and potentially the next four years are trial by fire. He has to recognize and his aides say this morning that some of the provisions in the Affordable Care act are popular and they may be tough to totally repeal. Now the challenge is finding a replacement that leaves some provisions in. So it is not necessarily changing what was a dogmatic piece of his campaign . It will be wholesale reform. Speaker ryan in the house and leader mcconnell in the senate are eager to tear up much of the obama agenda. The question is how far does that go and when you are dealing with a narrow majority in the senate, you may not be able to do everything republicans want. Robert, lets talk about changes inside the camp on friday. Vice president elect replacing christie. What does it say about pences on role . He is the liaison between the white house and west wing. It shows that governor christie, while a confidant to the president elect has been hobbled by scandal and has not worked well with Jared Kuschner. His father charles was prosecuted by christie. And talk about kuschner. His daughter ivanka and eric and don jr. Account for a fourth of the executive committee . This is a role for them Going Forward . The trump family is very close and this is going to be much like we saw with president carter in the 70s and Bobby Kennedy with john kennedy. The family will have a role. It is unusual for families to be part of the government. This is why the transition process raised questions. When you elect donald trump, you will also bring along the family because he runs a family enterprise. Robert, what does it say about the fact is what matters is what is loyal to him. They are looking for people who are loyal to trump versus people who could, i dont know, have an incredible role in the administration . Hes a total outsider in american politics. He has little trust with many of the insiders who opposed him during the republican nomination process. At the early stage of the transition, he is looking to loyalists. He doesnt know the town. We have seen this in the past with president s were populous and outsiders coming in to the white house. You have a lot of resumes floating through trump tower. Buildings vandalized and bullied and many are fearful in the wake of the decisive campaign. Nbcs sarah dallof has more. Reporter this morning, officials across the nation are looking into a rash of alleged hate crimes and incidents of hate speech and bullying in the wake of the president ial election. Graffiti and threats surfacing across the country. Directed at political and racial and ethic and religious groups. We are worried about the next four years. Reporter the building in los angeles vandalized. In virginia, this statue tagged. And in new york, three students were suspended after chanting white power in the schools hallway. In royal oak, michigan, this caught on camera chanting build the wall. Online, expressions of fear with one woman tweeting my 8yearold sister just told me shes scared to be muslim. That broke my heart. Its really ugly out there. Reporter the Southern Poverty Law Center has tracked an unusual spike. More than 200 hate crimes since the election. People walk around with fear in their hearts. They look at their neighbors not as their friends, but with suspension when things like this happen. It is not good for us. Reporter many are speaking out about the alarming trend. Its just a mass against human decency. It doesnt matter which candidate you support. Reporter some including this trump supporter calling for direct action from the president elect, who this week pledged to be a leader for all americans. Base in afghanistan. Four people were killed in a suicide bombing at the bagram airfield. A dozen others were wounded when the bomber detonated a suicide vest as people were gathering for a fun run. The taliban claimed responsibility. Lets turn to the other front on the war on terror. President elect trump said wiping out isis is one of his priorities when he takes office in january. There are new reports the terror group is stockpiling chemical weapons as it tries to hold off advancement of the iraqi army in mosul. Matt bradley is in mosul this morning. Matt, good morning. Today, iraqi forces pushing closer to the city of mosul. Isis fighters dug in, willing to do anything to protect their turf. These civilians near mosul inhaled toxic gas after set fire to a factory late last month killing four people and injuring hundreds. And on friday, the United Nations said isis is stockpiling chemical weapons. That could be a war crime. Its also president elect trumps deadliest global challenge. He says the Current Administration hasnt done enough and he wants to wipe isis off the map. The militants will use the cruel methods to survive. Leaving burns on people and scars on the earth. Isis uses people as human shields. They open fire on fleeing people. This researcher for human rights watch. The pentagon announced 119 civilians have been killed in two years of bombing in iraq and syria. Thats just based on initial investigations. In boise, idaho, police were doing a yard to yard search and one was hit when bullet were flying. Wildfires are burning in seven Southern States this morning. Fueled by dry conditions. The fires have shutdown highways and forced residents to evacuate. Many of the blazes are mountain areas making it tough to fight. In alabama, there have been more than 1,400 wildfires in just over one month, the governor is offering a reward to anyone who can identify individuals dl deliberately setting them off. Dylan. Some areas in the southeast have not seen rain for 50 days. It is dry. We are talking chilly temperatures. A Different Air mass out there. Freeze warnings and freeze advisories. Look out our window over San Francisco this morning, still dark but the city lights twinkling and you can see some cloud cover over the top. We have a look at our microclimate forecast. They might be on their way in because we were tracking a cold front that brought some slight rain to the north bay but nothing to worry yourself about because overall were expecting a pretty nice saturday ahead right now in san jose, 58 degrees, mostly clear skies, but as we make our way towards San Francisco, we are still seeing that patchy fog and that patchy fog should be sticking around until about midday until we say a break in the clouds, welcoming some sunshine. Right now, 62 degrees but we are expecting to warm up into the 70s across all of the bay area really. Yesterday, we did top out at about 75 degrees in san jose. Today, were looking at 73, so still slightly warmer than where we should be around this time of year especially because it is november. Overall, upper 60s across most of the area, east bay also looking at upper 60s, lower 70s minor oakland, so its going to be a pretty nice weekend. I think well take it. Thank you very much. Well, demonstrators across the bay area are demanding action and they are renouncing violence. Protesters once again turned out in san jose and oakland and San Francisco last night but there was a notable difference. No damage, no blocking traffic on the freeway. It began in san jose where several hundred antitrump protesters marched through downtown for the fourth straight night. Police, some of them in riot gear, were on stand by, but the crowd did stay under control. This group chanted peaceful protests throughout the night and say they are doing what they can to deliver a message to the president elect. Thats when problems start and when is what hes going to start. He wants to deport mexicans and muslims. Why does he want to split usa up . Protesters say they will not stop any time soon. In San Francisco, about 200 antitrump protesters gathered in front of the ferry building, also a peaceful gathering and much like san jose, a large Police Escort monitored the crowd. The protesters blocked traffic for a short time along the embarcadero before they took off marching up market street. Another round of protests in downtown oakland as well but as in the other cities, this one was peaceful. About 100 people got a Police Escort and walked around for hours. The protests are passionate but Business Owners say the passion is costing them. Restaurants reporting a large amount of cancellations and its also having effect on their bottom line, they say. Ive lost about between 80 and 100 reservations. On wednesday night, i marched with the protesters, and on wednesday night, i had to stand in front of our establishment until about 3 00 or 4 00 to make sure that we didnt experience any damage or anything. Leblanc has been in the uptown area for years. He went around to some of the startup businesses to make sure they dont get discouraged and pack up and leave oakland. It has been 54 days since weve seen even a drop of rain back through birmingham. 26 days in atlanta. Charlotte, north carolina, hasnt seen measurable rain since almost a month ago. We are certainly still dealing with those very dry conditions. All of those wildfires that have developed not getting any relief from Mother Nature because the ground is dry. No clouds. Temperatures have actually been above average and, of course, we havent had any rain. Now we do have an area of low pressure thats going to try to move in from the southeast. This unfortunately is most beneficial to the southeastern parts of the states, down near charleston, south carolina, into savannah, georgia. Where we really need it were not going to get a whole lot of rain. A drop or two. Thats not enough to help with the drought situation. Temperatures will start to warm up after rebounding with very Cool Temperatures after the plains and midwest this morning. We should get into the mid to upper 50s. Cool start across the bay area, were seeing temperatures in the 50s all across the south bay, peninsula at about 56 degrees and those partly cloudy skies should be sticking around until about midday, overcast patchy fog out near San Francisco at about 59 degrees but those temperatures are expected to climb right back up into those upper 60s and 70s for parts of the south bay, san jose at about 73, overall were looking at a dry, mild day ahead. Lets start with trump policy. There are a few things you have to think about. Hard to get your head around it. He has talked about ripping of trade deals. We are not sure what that means exactly. He means to bring back manufacturing to the United States. Get a better deal on the deals we have. We dont know what that means. He also talked about reducing regulation. He wants to cut regulation by 70 . A lot of companies in the 401 k would benefit from that. Oil companies, pharmaceutical companies, coal companies. He wants to bring back coal. Hillary clinton wasnt keen on. Companies in the coal business will benefit from that. Those are the kinds of things you wants to be thinking about if you have those in your portfolio. It is early to tell how it will be effected. I dont know i would do all that much. We have to talk about market reaction. The market doesnt local political parties, but hates surprise parties. We saw the dow plummet and walk us through the steady climb. What happened is the dow futures plummeted the night the election was happening because asian markets were open. People didnt know what was going on. In the eight hours between 1 00 a. M. And 9 30 a. M. When the stock market opened, analysts thought about the coal business and deregulation business and they figured out how that might help stocks. Infrastructure. He will build a wall. He will build all sorts of things. I dont think the wall is infrastructure. He says he wants to fix infrastructure. Caterpillar did well. People said, we could make money off a Trump Presidency. That is not investors and rich people. That is everybodys 401 k . If this is my retirement savings, am i doing something right now, we dont know who he will put in the cabinet. I want to put up a chart for the last 100 years. What you will notice is but for recessions or wars, the market tends to go up over the longterm. You see the last blip before the last move up. That is the recession we just went through in 2008 and 2009. So generally speaking, you dont want to make sudden moves. If you decided on the night of the election this is terrible for stocks. The dow will go down 900 points. Ill sell wednesday morning, you would have missed the gains. I say dont touch your 401 k unless it is your normal rebalancing. If they have a way of legalizing permanent permanently, it is not a path to citizenship, it is temporary. And bonafide relationship if they marry and they can get a green card. The first is dont panic or go to scammers. These incidents create opportunities for scammers to prey on people and their fear and uncertainty and try to promise something that doesnt exist. Go to appropriate counsel. Many states that have given drivers license have information as does the federal government. That information is very detailed. Very detailed. My concern is it includes their parents. I did thousands of applications for that and they would ask the first page of the application for parents names. They have names and information and fingerprints and work history and addresses. It is very concerning. When it was started in 2012, there were campaigns that the federal government will get information about your family and it will never been used in any way. Is that word being kept . It doesnt appear so if this gets canceled. That information is in the data banks for immigration. And it could be used and shared with the department of justice. My concern is that the data bank for the department of motor and vehicles in california and i assume in many other states that do allow for drivers license for undocumented, that database is opened to i. The people who own the highend condos in the Millennium Tower are fighting back. The tower is sinking, its tilting and the residents say theyre not going to pay their property taxes. In a letter to the city assessor, they outline why they say no residents should have to pay their property taxes. The city inspection building officials did not tell owners that the tower sunk at least 16 inches and is now tilting at least 2 inches since opening in 2009. An independent appeals board will make the final decision on this one, but that decision would take months, perhaps even years. Alabama chief executive Robert Bentley offered a reward to try to catch whoever might be deliberately setting fires in the state. More than 1400 fires have broken out in alabama since october 1st. Theyre also renouncing violence. Protesters turned out once again in san jose and oakland and San Francisco last night but there was a notable difference this time. No damage and no one blocked the traffic on the freeway. We begin in san jose where several hundred antitrump protesters marched tlult area for the fourth straight night. Police, some of them in riot gear, were on standby, but the group did stay under control. This group was chanting peaceful protests throughout the night and theyre doing whatever they can though deliver a message to the president elect. Thats when problems start and this is what hes going to start. He wants to deport mexicans and muslims and stuff like that, why does he want to split usa up like that . Protesters say they wont stop any time soon. To San Francisco where about 200 antitrump protesters gathered in front of the ferry building. Very peaceful, much like in san jose. And there was a large Police Escort monitoring the crowd. The protesters did block traffic for a short time along the keep in mind keep in mind the embark dero. Another round of protests in oakland but it was peaceful. About a hundred people did get a Police Escort around the downtown area for hours. The protest is passionate but the Business Owners say that passion is costing them money. Restaurants are reporting a large amount of cancellations and theyre saying its having an effect on their bottom line. Ive lost between 80 and 100 reservations. On wednesday night, i marched with the protesters. And on wednesday night, i had to stand in front of our establishment until about 3 00 or 4 00 to make sure that we didnt experience any damage or anything. He has been in the uptown area for eight years. He did go around to some of the Startup Companies around there to make sure they dont feel discouraged and pack up and leave. When you are pregnant, there are so many changes going on. You are like whats going on and it can be stressful and anxiety producing. Yoga helps you embrace it all. Is it something i could get into now although im eight months pregnant . You can learn to do it at any stage of pregnancy. So there are easy, gentle exercises you can do at home without a book or dvd that are great for opening up the body. I like this for the shoulders. You touch the palms. Im not flexible. That is the thing with yoga. Over time, you get more flexible. And sitting, you can do this. It is good for the hips. Good for the belly. First of all, what do we have . The squash and onions and map maple syrup and chipotle. A spicy butternut maple chipotle soup. We are starting with the onions in the pan. Little bit of garlic. You can buy it chopped. Does it taste the same . Totally. If you do it fresh, it works nice. I buy them already cut up. We have your chicken stock. That will cook down. I like that. That means its good . Great. Cook them for 20 minutes. Get them fork tender. Then we have maple syrup. A little heavy cream. You make it with cream and maple syrup. Spicy, sweet and creamy. That goes into the blender puree and into the bowl. Then garnish with candy pecans. What are we making here . Easy way to cook it. Roast it in the oven. Foil, salt, pepper, parmesan and nutmeg. This is sage bread crumbs over the top. A little bit of brown butter and vinegar. We come here with the pasta. You can buy at the store or make it yourself.
