Because the one thing you feel about head lice is it is passed around in classrooms. Right. But theyre saying thats not the case . No. And for the first time it seems like parents will wake up to good news for a change right . So the american of pediatrics position on this is head lice is not as contagious as we think it is. Its not just casual contact at school if you bump into a friend that its easily transmissable. I get letters from the school all the time. You cant bring kids back if they have lice or eggs in the hair. This is something that could be practice changing. You never know how kids interact in school, whether theyre wrestling or playing. I mean, how do kids get it then. What kind of close contact do you have to have to get it . I should say that most of the transmission occurs outside of the school. They make a strong point to say its usually the household contact or in the community. We recommend not sharing hats, not sharing combs sharing brushes, headphones things like that. Because lice dont jump. They actually crawl. So you can imagine that you have to be wrestling on the floor, so it is not that it cant happen in school but it is less likely to than i think most of us think. All right. Basically, from their charge the American Academy of pediatrics, kids no longer should be withheld from school that it is bad for them emotionally, its a stigma and they are losing their educational ties. Youve got kids there are going to be some unhealthy choices sometimes in the kitchen. Put those in the back. You prepare your breakfast the night before which is a really big deal. Because you want to be able to have stuff with you and accessible. Its like all of a sudden hold on. Get that refrigerator. So now its lunch before you go to work. This is what you already made before you went to bed the night bmp. This is all a healthier choice here. You pack them up. I always say you want to keep fruit, something that you can see. You want to be able to stay away from the chocolate and look at all this. This is what i thought was really funny t and hoda were we made a beeline for the chocolate. And i was like what about this . Whats going on here . This is the problem. Lets go to the office. Thats where a lot of people im not calling you out by name but matt lauer does keep a candy dish by his office and maintains a 90 degrees weight. Im throwing them away. Everybody, calm down. I know. Okay. But its true. You shouldnt keep candy by your desk. Its so tempting. It is. You want to just really make sure you keep yourself in a Healthy Fitness bubble. Right . Because thats what thin and fit people do. Theyre not having this stuff around them. Theyre going to have healthier choices around them when they want a snack. Also in your drawer at work keep your workout clothes with you. So you can see them. At least its like a mindset where youre like oh there are my shoes. You could walk to lunch or something. Bob, look over there. The bedroom. What do we do at night . To prepare. Theres so many joke there when it comes to going to bed at night, i always say have a glass of water so its the first g you do when you get up in the morning. Have that gl water. The alarm clock, put it far away from the bed. Have it loud. So when it is time to get up you get up. Lay out your workout clothes the night befo some people sleep in their workout clothes. I know people that do that. I know girls that sleep in their jog bras and so theyre just like all right lets get up and go. Its to reduce the obstacles to working out. People are always looking for excuses. People are always saying i dont have enough time. People are always telling me things like that. Im like you know what . We can all make the time. Am i a catholic . Am i a good girl . Am i good enough . Are these labels you find yourself still jockeying with . Some of them. Some of them. The am i enough part were for sure. But i think thats being human. Reporter and maria writes about the human side of her family claiming her father was abusive when she was a child. When somebody is public in a family the rest of the family isnt. Did you ask their permission . Everyone said from e begig write whatever you want. My family is just sort of like that. And i was so nervous about my dad reading the book. Because theres a lot of painful things about him and abuse during our childhood and his Mental Illness and how he grew up. And when he read the book, he was the firstn that actually read the book. And i said dad, did you like it . He said i thought the part about me was right on. The only stuff i didnt like was all the sex stuff, that wasnt okay. Reporter today the two have worked through the past. So are you hoping that this book will make inroads into being a less Judgmental Society about sexuality, politics religion all of these things that seem to really divide us . Yes. I think that the whole idea is to get rid of the labels that make us feel judged or ashamed. Its like its time to live louder. But theres this video we showed this earlier in our newscast in the 7 00 hour but take a look. This happened in washington state. Thank goodness buses now have surveillance cameras, because it caught this. You see the bus driver letting some kids on to the bus, but right there, that white suv just goes within inches of those kids. I mean cuts them off, inches away from hitting those three children. And when you look at that second view all different angles right. You can really see, theres very little room. Very little room. I wonder if the driver even was freaked out after this happened. I dont think so, because he didnt even pull over kept going. That person driving that car, that was a deliberate decision to pass, so if they were freaked out, they should have been. And they didnt bother to stop or and to your point did. Theres the area. Yeah, right there. Look at that. Thats not even a surface road. Theres no shoulder there. Thats a ditch. And they went around for whatever reason. Nothing can be that important that you would be late to. Other drivers said that he had been weaving or the driver whoever, had been weaving through the cars. And so clearly, there was a pattern impaired or something . Who knows. Doesnt matter but hopefully, theyll catch him. So, authorities are now offering a 1,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest there in washington state. So, if you know anything about that on today. Com. Jeff rossen did a terrific rossen report two months ago about this. We should put that back up. About people skirting past skirting past. Right. Its against the law. It is and whats interesting, too is that surveillance, you do see the side of the vehicle. Right. It would be i know its expensive and schools have budgets and different counties have fewer dollars than others but if they could have a camera mounted on the front and the rear so whatever angles possible to catch the license plate and be able to quickly get these folks, because you can see the side i wonder if when they slow it down they can digitally enhance it. And look at other security cameras in the area. In fact jeff rossen is here on a different story. He is here. Jeff, before we talk about the smartphone thing, talk about this school bus issue. You did a terrific report. Yeah. A report on that. We did a rossen reports on this. And there are so many drivers caught on tape now that are flying by these school buses, and actually, there is new technology that a lot of districts are using. Its sort of like a red light camera, but for school buses. You know when the stop signs come out and the red lights go on . It starts recording and gets the license plate of the cars which would help. As a parent its shocking you went out with the police with actual patrols to do this. We found within a couple hours all these cars speeding by buses. One woman had her kid in the car taking them to school. Yes. Its absolutely crazy. They speed by because theyre so busy on their texting or they think theyre late for work and they almost hit kids. And its not just school buses, but ice cream trucks that have the stop signs. You have to Pay Attention to them as well. Anywhere kids are. And construction trucks and construction zones. I mean, so many times you hear about fatalities of workers. And the thing with the cameras on school buses is you know kids are crossing the street, you know . Theyre not staying on the sidewalk. Same thing with the ice cream trucks. Theyre running to the trucks. You did an amazing piece that i think a lot of people stood up and took notice. We want to talk about this about the tracking device on your phone that a lot of people dont know about. Yes, smartphone snooping. If you have an iphone or an Android Device. You have an iphone. I know you do. All of you guys have iphones. I have an iphone too. Basically, it is on androids or iphones. It is tracking your every move location to location down to the minute. It tells you the minute you were there. Its a deeply buried hidden setting that you can shut off. Do you want me to show you how to do it . Before you do that why are they tracking that . Why is it st there . Apple says they use it for potentialized services. So, every once in a while, theyll say tamron weve determined it will take you 25 minutes to get home from work tonight. How do they know where your home is . Because they recognize that you spend from 8 00 p. M. To 5 00 a. M. At this one location every night, so we know thats your home. And we know where you spend most of your days. Its pretty creepy. But what are they doing with it . They say they have Personalized Services. But the difference between the ios and android, android, you say that if you can hack into somebodys google account yes. So apple says that it stays on your phone, all that information is stored on your device only and not sent to apple, unless you consent. But experts say you likely consent when you hit agree on all those forms. You agree to everything. Who reads that . I dont. You sit agree and so your stuff may be getting sent to apple. They say its for Personalized Services. But google. So, google when youre on an Android Device samsung, lg any of those it goes to google and google takes it and you can actually if somebody hacks into your gmail account, they can know where you are, where you live where you work where you eat dinner and down to the minute. I said i just had breakfast with your brother and sister theyre right here. I said look. Oh, no, theyre not here. Okay. But what happened was i went to the doctor and gave blood. There was nothing in my blood. I just made myself crazy. I think there was like agave or something in there. We shot a scene about being on a hallucinogenic thing. I started believing it.
