This as an air canada plane slid off the runway. We have been following this one. Good morning. The air canada plane flight made an abrupt landing at the halifax airport in bad weather. 25 people suffered minor injuries. It left late saturday with 133 passengers and five crew members. Authorities say the plane touched down in stormy conditions. The region was under a snowfall warning. Passengers describe a chaotic landing. We were coming in to land and there was a big flash. There were guys on that side of the airplane that said we cut off a power hole taking the power out at the airport. When that happened we came down bang. The incident also knocked out power to the airport, but power has since been restored. An airport spokesman also said that they are looking into whether the weather conditions played a role in this. This is the second incident in the past week with an airbus 360. The tragic plane crash in the french alps also involved an airbus 320. This morning, air canada Officials Say theyre thankful no serious injuries were reported in this halifax incident. Thank you. This morning, there are new reports about the final moments of the doomed german airport and the heroic efforts made by the captain, as his copilot flew it straight to the alps. We have the details this morning. Reporter good morning. This new timeline being reported by a german newspaper is chilling to say the least. Giving you a run down of what it was like inside that plane during its final decent. We also have new video to show you of Andreas Lubitz actually flying. His friends tell us he always wanted to be a pilot, and in this video obtained by nbc news Andreas Lubitz is in the air in a glider where the dream started to become a reality. Six days after flight 9525 crashed in the french alps and the answers to what could have gone wrong for lubitz seem as scattered at the debris. A german publication says it has a timeline of the final minutes of the flight. After take off, the captain told co pilate Andreas Lubitz he didnt get a chance to go to the bathroom in spain, to which lubitz encourages him to go in the air. The captain doesnt respond. Once they reach altitude the captain gets up and tells lubitz quote, you take over. He leaves and you hear the cockpit door click shut. Next thing you hear, the pilot knocking and banging on the door saying open the damn door. As the plane hurdles to the mountain, the pilot takes an ax to the door. Passengers scream. They hide an ax in the cabin that only the flight crew knows about. This new account comes as other reports emerge about Andreas Lubitzs state of mind. He was depressed, accord together a newspaper. He was going through relationship crisis. Planning something to make everyone remember him, according to a woman calling herself an exgirlfriend. The latest a sight disorder one that would stop lubitz of fulfilling his dream of becoming a longhaul captain for lufthansa. Officials wont go on the record about any of that and nbc news cant independently confirm the claims. Still, no concrete answers as to why he would intentionally commit mass murder. Investigators are trying to find out as much as they can to piece together just exactly what was going on with lubitz at the time of the crash. Lufthansa reiterated they had no evidence of any medical problems with lubitz at any point during his employment. Guys back to you. Thank you. New legislation in indiana may be coming as early as this year as the backlash grows over a controversial new law. Supporters say it protects religious freedoms while opponents insist it legalizes dris krim discrimination. Well get the latest from gabe gutierrez. Reporter the controversial over the religious freedom restoration act in indiana. It allows people to use their religious belief to discriminate against other people. And thats wrong. Reporter the governor says he would support new legislation this week to clarify the intent of the bill he signed on thursday. Allowing businesses to deny Service Based on their religious believes. The pattern in the jet stream is split, and storms are going north and south of california, or staying offshore completely. The few storms that hit this year produced more rain than snow. Rain is important, but why is the snow pack so much more important . Because it stores the water, and then gradually releases it when its most needed down below and the lowlands. Reporter the drought after means trouble for ski areas in the region. The number of skiers is going downhill fast. Nearly 3 million in three years. The best part about spring skiing is its warm and theres usually a ton of snow. Not this year. Look at all the dirt on the slopes. There are hardly any skiers. Because of the amount of water in the snow pack is so important, scientists manually sample the snow throughout the season. There are also taking to the skies, using Nasa Technology laze and lasers to take measures. What were headed for now is also simply knowing how much water there is in the mountain snow wackpack. One spectator was killed. There is no doubt that race car driving can be a dangerous sport for both fans and drivers. A frightening scene at a racetrack in germany with a car upended and soaring about 100 feet bouncing over a fence and into a crowd of people killing one spectator. Its the latest incident with spectators hurt alongside the tracks. At talladega in 2009, Carl Edwards Edwards car went airborne and crashed upside down into the fence. Seven fans were injured. Two years ago during a nascar race at daytona, more than two dozen fans were hurt when debris from a crash flew into the stands. While racing is far safer than it once was, these incidents have prompted calls for approved safety. Safety is something youre always learning about and always moving forward on. I think it is just a continued evolution and continued effort on all groups to make the sport as safe as possible. Reporter threequarters of americans believe prayer can heal. But only half of adults say they pray regularly. With onequarter praying only in times of need. Im always asking god for something or thanking him for something. Reporter americans also embrace spirituality. More than 60 of adults practice meditation mindfulness or reading religious text. I do yoga occasionally and sometimes follow that with a short meditation just taking a moment to be quiet and contemplative. Reporter as we get older, the question on so many of our minds, is there an afterlife . Of those surveyed 55 say yes. With a majority of them insist insisting their belief in an afterlife affects the decisions they make today. Life is so short. Erin can you melt one for me so i can show how to make the bunfy and put it on my tray . I want to show you guys i precut ears out of cupcake papers. Always left over. Theyre very lightweight, and food safe so theyre perfect for the ears. They still right to the melted chocolate. You just put the little designs on top. I put the ears under the melted chocolate. Then i drop in sprinkles, eyes and nose. I have one thats already ready to go in the cupcake. It goes right on top. So cute is this looks like a little field of bunnies. Erin good job. The next trick here is to cut a little neck hole out of the second marshmallow. Now you have a sticky spot and youre sticking stick can cuts mine is too big. Thats okay. You guys keep cutting. Cut some ears. I have one thats already put together. All the natural stick yeah. Then another trick is to poke a hole if you want to put in a sprinkle because that exposes the inner stickiness.
