i go, no. he goes, the septic's overflowing. about ten feet away from the tent we've put up. not in 19 years has the septic overflowed. i go -- i run down there and there it is bubbling out -- bubbling. >> mm. mm. >> so anyway -- >> a good thing you lit those tiki torches to kill the scent. >> thank you to watson's catering for that. they called in. no. there was nothing -- we had a statue of a little kid sledding down -- i said get the statue! bring it over here! put it on so nobody will slip in it. >> i know what? >> this was -- >> a shocker. >> a bit surprising. when you open "the new york post" and look at the front page, usually you get a surprise just because of the way they do their headlines. >> they're very, very colorful with their headlines. >> this one was even more so. it's michael douglas, and he talked about how he says oral sex gave him cancer. originally, people were saying it was the smoking and drinking, which i think is what people were i guess led to believe or thought. but he gave an interview to the "guardian" when they were asking him if he regretted the smoking and drinking in his life. and he said, well, actually if you want to know what gave me cancer, it wasn't those things. it was oral sex. >> right. and the irony of that is that's supposed to be safer than all of the other stuff. >> you're right. >> oh, wow. it's a tough subject. but you know what? it's so underreported. and it's so on the rise. hpv is the most commonly transmitted sexual infection there is. there are more than 40 types of hpv. this one known as hpv 16, frank's number. anyway. it's been linked -- and it manifests in the back region of the throat and mouth. and he two times was misdiagnosed. and finally a friend looked down his throat and saw he had a walnut-sized node. >> hard to believe they missed that. >> so good for michael talking about it openly. it will probably save lives. and we don't want to insinuate in any way who infected him. he's married to an absolutely beautiful actress and a lovely lady. the thing is, though, kids, young kids especially, think that this kind of sex is just fine. >> i know. >> you know, and they start doing that sort of behavior. >> right. >> in school it seems like today. >> it's not one of the things that kids are thinking about. >> and they're not worried about it. they're not nervous about it. it's going to be interesting. later on we're going to have a discussion with a gentleman who has written an important book called "what do women want?" and it basically talks about how much of what we've been wrong about women's -- female sexuality. >> it's an interesting topic. one of his headlines in his book is "we always think that the man is the one who strays." this is -- >> or the aggressor as well. >> or the aggressor. but they say -- and women are the nesters. women want one person. we want monogamy. he's saying uh-uh, they did tons of research. he's saying that's not the case. that women just have a wandering eye as much as men do. >> are hard-wired in their dna just as much to. so that's going to be fascinating. but you know, anytime you are promiscuous in terms of how many partners you have, whether you're the male or the female, you exponentially increase the probability of disease. >> and again we're -- >> nobody likes to talk about that. they all like to talk about freedom. >> and we're talking again about young kids in school who sometimes don't realize -- >> okay. so good for michael. we're glad he's cancer-free for the last couple of years. it's everyone has a story week on how we make these segues -- that's how we do that. ♪ everyone has a story >> that's right. what a singer. >> is that you? >> of course it is. >> cheryl wrote in to honor her daughter lauren. when lauren was 15 years old, she lost her precious sister jessica to sudden cardiac arrest. a few months after losing her lauren herself found out she was pregnant. now, she was in high school. and rather than give up the baby, she decided to keep it and show everybody out there that not all young mothers drop out of school. and are terrible mothers like we see on these teen mother shows. so with the support of her family she finished high school while raising her child. and she just graduated with a degree in elementary education from college and is the proud mother of an 8-year-old daughter, kalina, as well as her 9-month-old son, maddox. i just wanted to highlight her story and there they are, and so we have sheryl on the line. and who else, her mom? >> besides a good night's sleep. >> one guy made it his mission to find out and now he's a hero to every man in america. >> daniel bergen is the author of the highly anticipated "what do women want: adventures in the science of female desire." and logan levkof is a sex therapist and relation 14i7 expert. good to see you both. >> the big reveal in your book, we can probably sum it up by saying that most people believe men are the promiscuous ones, they're the one who want to spread their seed and the women want to stay home and nest and have one man in their life. you're saying uh-uh. ixnay? >> i am kind of saying uh-uh. it was one of the most surprising things i found. we think that men have been genetically programmed by evolution to spread their seed, be promiscuous, and women are sort of more driven to seek out one good man. i'd say if anything, when it comes to sex monogamy may be more of a problem for women than men. >> because? this is scientific research? >> if i can do a goofy little hand grab here. so here's committed relationships. desire starts at about the same point. women for men, plenty of sex driefrks ple drive, plenty of desire. men decline gradually. women seem to decline much more steeply. >> what causes that? >> different theories, one of the prime drivers that researchers talk to me about when it comes to women's desire is the desire to be desired. and maybe that sort of wanes a bit? >> that's a turn-on. having someone want me. >> it is a turn-on to know that someone looks at you a certain way. especially when you've been told growing up that you shouldn't seek out that kind of attention. we have all of these mixed messages. which you know -- which is unfair and it's just not true. but all of this complicates how we interact with one another. how we ask for pleasure. how we even talk to those monogamous partners in our life and add to that all the magazine articles that say, you know, a million ways to have sex just like it was in the beginning. it's impossible to do that. >> except your research shows from what you're saying it's possible to have that but as long as you have a new partner. >> trying to find a female viagra pill. right? >> the reason i wrote about that for one chapter was really less to sort of put a pill out there as to kind of look inside the neural pathways of sex within the brain, give us a fascinating glimpse into that. but we might have to think in new ways about our relationship. one of the tropes we've been told over and over is share in the chores, share emotionally, great, wonderful, i'm a romantic, i'm into that. that's probably not going to stoke desire. maybe we need to put a little more distance and mystery to cross to get desire -- >> if you're in a monogamous relationship, how can you keep it alive? >> if you want to stay monogamo monogamous. >> if you want to stay monday og nous -- and again, a lot of us choose that because that is the way our society is organized. but i think having your own identity, being able to go out with your friends, have lives and vacations separately and not just together, knowing who you are, you know, breeds that kind of desire, too, that you know that you are someone who's wanted and appreciated and attractive. and then you bring all of that erotic energy home to your partner. is something important. >> because ultimately, don't you think that the most erotic thing is the brain, anyway? >> yes, went to a couple of them and i had some of them better experience than others. but mine were not as much fun as like the main character in my book "game on" mia, who actually gets to interact with boys, has a little bit of fun. mine were just all tennis. >> it seems glamorous in the book. is that the way tennis academies are? >> not really. that was part of my imagination. i really wanted to create the perfect academy that i think everybody would want to go to in my head. and i hope that the readers kind of feel that in it. >> well, you also tell that there are two different types of people that go to these academies. >> yes. the main thing is there are two ways to get into the academy -- with money or with talent. >> so that sets up all kinds of conflict right away. >> and you're made to live in this academy together. and anytime we know when you put together all of these people and the stakes are super high, they're vying all for the same endorsements, the other ones are just wanting to kind of go through or for the attention of the boy -- i think it creates a lot of jealousy, a lot of competition and some fun, too, and some mischievous things. >> when you were starting out in tennis, did you have a leg up or did you just have to go on raw talent? >> i had to go on raw talent. and i went on -- thank you. on a scholarship. so i was kind of like mia, the main character in the book. you're one injury away from losing your scholarship. >> and your dream. >> it's a high-pressure situation. in tennis, very few areas you have a 16-year-old that essentially employs five or six people that depend on you. but you're really a teenager. >> the pressure is unimaginable at that point. your frontal lobe of your brain isn't even developed. when did it all start make sense to you, monica? the whole person of you. >> i think when i was near turning 40, about last year, i was putting the puzzle a little more and more together. >> you seem very, very much at peace now. grounded. >> i try. it took me a while. when i was a teenager, i went through the highs and lows that everybody goes. >> body esteem and all of that. >> very much so. and my weight battles and everything. and that's why in the book "game on" i really wanted to have the characters come from mixed backgrounds, mixed dreams. some coming from wealthy families, others vying for scholarship. >> i know you still have some of your skills. >> and you have not seen ours. so apparently you're -- yes, yes. now, hodie and i -- >> what are we doing? >> i don't know. >> got a dinner dilemma, we're about to make it very good. >> high five on that one. >> oh, thank you. >> we're going to eat something great. i think i smell pizza. and jo dee messina. hi there. i'm alex wilson from the weather channel with your seven-day forecast. watching for storms once again today in parts of the plain states. watch for that risk down into oklahoma city as well. we're going to see a few showers down into parts of the southeast. florida, though, you are getting soaked once again. watch for some areas of flash flooding possible. 84 in orlando. upper 80s for atlanta. heat is on in phoenix. 104 for you. we're back in the mid and upper 60s for san francisco and los angeles. end of the day tomorrow, once again those plain states watching for the threat of storms. once again, oklahoma city, you need to keep an eye to the sky. kansas city, you'll be watching for some showers. even up toward chicago. southeast, a little bit soggy, but especially down into florida you're going to keep that very wet pattern going. up into the northeast highs will be in the mid 70s for new york. 69 in boston. low 80s in d.c. low 90s for albuquerque and also dallas. as we get into the day thursday, still some showers in the southeast and florida. and then we'll be watching for showers stretched from the great lakes down into parts of the southeast or around the gulf coast. you'll see some showers even extending back over to houston possible. dallas watching for some wet weather with highs around 84. it will be 90 in salt lake city. near 80 in denver. 75 and dry for seattle. friday you can see the west coast is on the quiet side. 75 for san francisco. but on the east coast that's where we are going to see the showers extending from all of those big cities. highs range from 64 in boston. we warm all the way to near 90 for orlando. also around new orleans. you're going to be close to 90 degrees. saturday showers still along the east coast cities. then we'll watch for showers up into the plains. 70s for minneapolis. and the weekend brings some more showers for areas like kansas city and minneapolis. don't forget, each weekday morning you can wake up with al and stephanie. starts at 5:30 a.m. what do you think about caffeine? >> so great. these are great, really consistent all through the year this is going to kind of work as our tomato sauce. we're grilling outside. the last thing you want to do is to be in your kitchen. we're going to roast them a little bit. you can do them in a pan. if you want to throw the chili flakes in there. >> sure. chili flake. >> garlic. >> and microplaned garlic. so it breaks up. >> i've never seen that. >> i don't know what you're talking about. >> like a cheese grater. but you -- >> do i add this? >> throw it in. >> rosemary. >> mix that up. go ahead and give that a swirl. a little pepper in there. >> olive oil in there already. >> you can't put too much olive oil in. >> in other words, you cannot put too much olive oil in. >> cannot. drown it. >> i love it. >> the other thing you can do if you don't want to roast these, these are roasted in an oven just until they blister. you can leave it overnight and all the salt will pull out the juices of the tomato. you don't even have to cook them. you can do it as -- >> we're grilling the dough? >> we are grilling the dough. we're just rolling this out. this is also great to do with the kids. they love obviously doing dough. you can do store-bought dough. really, really simple. we're just going to take a little bit of oregano and use our brush for the olive oil on that. >> clever. >> so we're going to throw that on. this is cooking a little bit. we're going to let it flip for a second. quick tip with our mozzarella. if you're putting mozzarella on a pizza, let it -- tear it, let it dry overnight in our refrigerator. because of the liquid. >> to get the liquids out. >> flip that now? >> yes, do a little flipper. >> ready? >> one, two, three. >> look at that. >> mozzarella. we're going to go ahead and throw this. the great thing when you flip it is that that you do have this great heat on the other side and that allows you to melt the cheese. you can throw those on if you want. you can do the raw tomatoes on it, no problem. >> we're going to put a little bit of meat on here as well. >> how long should it quick?
