Welcome, welcome, welcome, welcome. Good looking crowd. I love you i love you. Welcome, everybody. Welcome to the tonight show. Im your host jimmy fallon. [ cheers and applause ] you did it. You made it, you made it. I love you, jimmy jimmy i love you, too. Heres what people are talking about. Of course, today donald trump was sworn in as the 45th president of the united states. Now, some people [ cheers and applause ] some people watched it on tv. Some people watched it on the internet and many people watched it like this [ laughter and applause ] at the ceremony trump repeated each line of the oath after chief Justice John Roberts said it and trump was like, wait. Now, whos president . You or me . Are we both . [ laughter and applause ] what happened . What just happened . And maybe it was just me but while trump was taking the oath i noticed something about his right hand, as the oath went on. See if you can notice this. Watch this. Please raise your right hand and repeat after me. I, Donald John Trump do solemnly swear. I Donald John Trump do solemnly swear. That i will faithfully execute. That i will faithfully execute. [ laughter ] the office of president of the united states. The office of president of the united states. [ cheers and applause ] jimmy do you see what i see . Steve i see it, his hands are too tiny. Jimmy do you see what i see . I dont know. Steve i saw that. I saw that with my own eyes. Jimmy in his defense, it was very cold out. It was very cold out. [ light laughter ] steve yeah, very very chilly. Very chilly. Jimmy guys, listen to this. I read that donald trump had to give up his old cell phone and switch to a new phone, issue to him by the secret service. Which is why today trump answered his phone by saying, new president , who dis . [ cheers and applause ] ring ring. New president , who dis . This is pretty, big. Today, Hillary Clinton attended Donald Trumps swearing in. In fact, she did most of the swearing. And, uh [ laughter and applause ] and something very unusual happened here in new york city. Two of our tabloid newspapers, the New York Post and the New York Daily News ended up using the exact same pun headline. Take a look at this. Don of a new day. They both used it. [ light laughter ] hard to believe that they both had to use the same pun headline when theres so many available. I mean, for instance. The post could have gone with hair force one. I mean [ laughter and applause ] thats not bad. Daily news couldve gone with, orange you glad you voted for gary johnson . [ laughter ] do you see what im saying . There were options that they could have went with. They like it. I heard that only about 10,000 people went to Donald Trumps inauguration concert last night. More people would have been there, but when showed up they were told the concert was three doors down. [ laughter and applause ] all right. Steve hey, oh jimmy that was for the kids. [ rim shot ] steve come on jimmy ah steve for the kids. Jimmy of course, there were some people who were really excited to see trump moving into the white house. His neighbors back here in new york at trump tower. [ applause ] heres what they had to say. This trump tower resident said as soon as donalds moving truck pulled away i did the worm for two straight hours. [ laughter ] thats a lot of worming. Steve thats a lot of worming. Jimmy yeah. This one said, for 19 years i pretended like i didnt speak english so i didnt have to talk to him in the elevator. [ laughter ] no habla ingles. And, finally, this dog said, oh thank god, every time he walked by, his hair would growl at me. [ laughter and applause ] [ growl ] this is kind of crazy. But i saw that, according to a a new report, the most common password in 2016 was 123456. [ light laughter ] yeah. And were still wondering how the russians managed to hack us. [ laughter and applause ] you really if that doesnt work, try password. Finally, some good news, you guys. This week, nbc announced that will grace will return for ten episodes. [ cheers and applause ] but i read that the apartment where will and grace lived would cost over 6,500 a month with todays rent prices. Yeah, which explains the shows new title, will and grace and jeff and pete and mark and jennifer and katie. That should be enough to cover it. [ laughter ] we have is a great show tonight. We do give it up for the roots [ cheers and applause ] [ cheers and applause ] jimmy thank you very, very much. Thank you for being here. Thank you for watching today. Today was the inauguration. It was a big day today. I was watching it on tv and our whole office was. It was an historic day, but also kind of a weird day. Kind of an odd day because i dont think any of us could have predicted that a year ago donald trump would be our president. So its been a lot of mixed emotions today. Democrats are angry at trump. Trump supporters are angry at protestors. Everybodys angry at three doors down. [ light laughter ] steve true. [ laughter ] hey. Jimmy but i think the most encouraging thing i saw today, it was great, was seeing barack obama shake hands with donald trump. I thought that was setting a a good example, and setting a a good example [ cheers and applause ] it was good setting the example, that at the end of the day what we all want is, we want whats best for this country. We may disagree on how we get there. But we all want to be safe, and healthy, and peaceful. And, i was thinking about it. [ cheers and applause ] we all do. I was thinking i have two daughters and i would obviously do anything for them. I love them so much and i want them to grow up, being free and being able to have choices. And have opinions. We live in a great country where we can have different opinions. And thats okay. Its fine to have different opinions. You can do that. [ cheers and applause ] thats what makes this our country, its an amazing thing. [ applause ] i just hope that this weekend will be peaceful and that we can tell each other how we feel, but also listen to each other. Listen to each other. As this new chapter in our countrys history is written. We live in the greatest country in the world. This is [ cheers and applause ] thank you. Okay. Not only is today Inauguration Day it is also questloves birthday. Ladies and gentlemen steve oh, no [ cheers and applause ] jimmy yes it is, it is. [ laughter and applause ] i get it. Steve yeah. Jimmy thank you, vine, for officially shutting down this week. Your sixsecond videos were always so thank you, vine, for officially shutting down this week. [ laughter and applause ] your sixsecond videos were always thank you vine for officially shutting down this week. Steve nice [ light laughter ] jimmy thank you, the female shark who gave birth to several zebra sharks without being impregnated by a male partner. Or as the zookeeper put it, yes that is what happened. [ laughter and applause ] steve oh, no, you didnt jimmy wow. We should do research on that. Steve i was just swimming. [ cheers and applause ] jimmy welcome back, everybody were joined right now by the host of a brand new show called street science, that airs wednesday nights at 10 00pm on science channel. Please welcome back to the show, our resident science expert Kevin Delaney [ cheers and applause ] jimmy thank you for stopping by. Congratulations on the new show. Thanks, man. Jimmy its tell everyone about street science. Oh, its a lot of fun. Street science, its on science channel wednesdays at 10 00 and 10 30. I got a big team of artists, engineers, chemists. We go out on the street, and we do some of our favorite science demonstrations. Big, small, lots of fun. Jimmy yeah, i heard something that involved toothpaste yeah, we did our elephants toothpaste, or one of our old favorites we did. We used a volkswagen bug, instead of a regular flask, and it was jimmy it went all over the place. Everywhere. Yeah, it got everywhere. [ light laughter ] jimmy what are we doing tonight . cause we always do cool stuff. Im so excited. So tonight, we have liquid nitrogen. One of my favorite things, you know. Really, really cold. Jimmy yep. Minus 321 degrees fahrenheit. Jimmy yep. Uh, minus 196 celsius, very freezing cold. So when you go outside, and you get really, really cold, you forgot to wear your coat, what do you do . Jimmy i call my for my limousine. Yeah, you call for your limousine. [ laughter ] but like, William Henry harrison, he was president for a few days, right . Jimmy yeah. And he didnt wear a coat, and he got really, really cold. You you would go like this, right . Jimmy yeah, of course. You huddle. So, you huddle together. So Carbon Dioxide molecules behave very in a very similar way. So the Carbon Dioxide molecules in this balloon, are gonna get really, really cold when we dunk it in liquid nitrogen. So go ahead. Jimmy will it pop . Ah, well find out. So go ahead and put it in there. You get your tongue. Yeah, yeah, dont worry. Dont worry. And then, you know, you wanna like, push it down just let it get really, really cold. Jimmy like im sauteing. [ light laughter ] and so whats happening is all the co2 molecules are getting really close together, and taking up a lot less space inside the balloon, and we end up with kind of like a gross, shriveled up orange balloon. Jimmy oh, yeah. Which i feel is a very appropriate image today. [ laughter ] so you can go ahead [ cheers and applause ] i dont know why theyre clapping. We have things to do. Okay, so go ahead, take it out. And so well see what happens. So, now jimmy its like a potato chip. All of those co2 molecules can relax, and warm up jimmy no way. And expand, and fill that balloon again. So jimmy it just comes right back to yeah, pretty much, pretty much. I have more balloons over here. So go ahead, and we can start pulling these out. A blue one and a pink one. So jimmy wait. Do you just do this so you could just, do this. Some some of them pop. Be careful. Be careful. [ laughter ] its a day full of surprises. Jimmy it really is, thank you, kevin. No problem. Jimmy certainly. Look at how much fun this is . Heres another one. Theres a blue one. Jimmy you did this like this yeah you cant you gotta to be careful, if youre with the kids playing. Yeah, yeah. You dont want to do this with your liquid nitrogen at home. Some of them have helium in them. Jimmy oh, thats so rad yeah, there you go. Jimmy so the helium stays in there too . The helium yeah, yeah. It gets a little, less smaller than the Carbon Dioxide. But it works through. Jimmy ah, thats so rad. All right, lets go. We got more stuff to do. You wanna take off your blue gloves. Jimmy gotcha buddy, gotcha. What do we got here . All right, so now were going to make a painting, using some chemicals. Jimmy i love painting. So, you ever use a glow stick . Jimmy dude i go to a a rave every other week. Right on, right on. Yeah. [ laughter ] so, glow sticks work you know how it works . You have to crack it first, right . Jimmy yeah, but i dont understand what it does. Inside theres a little capsule filled with a a chemical jimmy uhhuh. Its called fennel oxalate ester. Jimmy uhhuh. Repeat that. Jimmy fennel oxalate ester . Good job, good job. Okay, so [ cheers and applause ] yeah, yeah, yeah. That was great. Jimmy im listening, im listening. That takes a long time to learn that kind of thing. Okay, so fennel oxalates fennel oxalate ester, mixes with the hydrogen peroxide, thats the rest of the liquid, and the dye. And what happens is all the electrons and the dye molecules, get really, really excited. And they, you know, their energy level goes up like this, and then as it relaxes it gives off light. Called chemiluminescence. Right. Jimmy oh, yeah. Okay. [ light laughter ] so now, this is what were going to do. Take these bottles here. Jimmy okay. Youve got one, two, three. Jimmy yep. And you just kind of pour them out here, and we can bring the lights down a little bit, too. Because what were going to do next, is take our hydrogen peroxide. [ light laughter ] jimmy im not getting used to that. Okay. Go ahead. And you got your last bottle of dye there . Jimmy oh, yeah. There you go, there you go. Now youve got your hydrogen peroxide. So you youre going to pour this on, on the count of three, were gonna pour it slowly, and were gonna watch the reaction. Are yall ready . Jimmy here we go. All right, check it out. [ cheers ] were gonna make a little painting here. [ audience oohs ] pretty nice. There you go. [ applause ] and now, jimmy, you got a a paintbrush over here. Jimmy wow so just paint your feelings. You know . Jimmy paint my feelings . Yeah. Jimmy this is so rad. Its art therapy. Jimmy dude, weve got to go to bonnaroo together. I mean, we really have to figure that out. Yeah, yeah. Well ill check my calendars. Jimmy i love this. Isnt that pretty . All right, but we got more stuff to do. So lets put these brushes down here in these little tubs, and come around to the front. Jimmy yes. Im going to need some help. Can i ask the roots to help me out with this one . Come on out, guys. [ cheers and applause ] jimmy birthday boy. All right, so now jimmy you snuck out of this one. Yeah, exactly. [ light laughter ] now, were going to light the greatest band in the world on fire. Sound good . Jimmy okay. Yeah, that sounds fantastic so, weve got these buckets here, in bucket one, we have soapy water. Jimmy uhhuh. In bucket two, we have soap and water and butane. So butanes flammable. Right . Jimmy uhhuh. So this is what were going to do. You you wanna dunk your hand into bucket number one, and then scoop up bucket number two. Jimmy okay. Okay. Jimmy here we go. So go ahead. Jimmy yep. Now brians going to come in and kind of check your bubble levels, and make sure everythings cool. Jimmy yep. And you dont want any bubbles on the bottom of your hand, because theyre going to light on fire, right . And you want to know where the fires going to be. Jimmy yep, not a good thing. Scoop em up. Here we go, here we go. Now, everybody kind of line up here. We call this a line of fire. [ cheers ] so, yeah. Should be all right. So all right, everybody. Stay confident and stay still too. You want to make sure your hand is nice and flat like a table. [ laughter ] and come in toget together, guys. All right, all right. And dont try this at home. Jimmy dont try this at home. Dont try this at home. Jimmy what is gonna dont try this at home. Jimmy soapy bubbles . I dont know whats happening. Its soapy bubbles. So all of our bubbles are connected. So, im going to light em on fire. Are you guys ready . Three two one [ cheers ] jimmy whoa [ cheers and applause ] there you go. Jimmy i smell burnt hair. I smell burnt hair. Is that you . Thats kamal. Kamal burnt his hair. Can we see that again in slow motion . Look at his face. Whoa jimmy thats awesome. And the soapy water is what did it. The soapy water gave you a a little layer of water vapor, that protected your skin from the fire. Jimmy youre the coolest ever. Kevin delaney, everybody street science airs wednesday nights at 10 00pm on science channel. James spader joins us next, stick around everybody [ cheers and applause ] even when you know where youre going. It Still Matters how you get there. The lexus line of luxury suvs. Giving you the power to make your own way. Shhh laughing whats going on . Gasp you going to shut it down . This is totally going viral. I wanna go viral. Going viral . Knicks and jazz. Oh, you do . Jimmy yeah. Thats my move. Oh, great. Jimmy and so i how was the set . Jimmy it was unbelievable. I love what it was a quartet, right . Jimmy it was a quartet. There was i saw the trio last week. Jimmy i heard they were amazing. They were. Jimmy Marcus Strickland on tenor sax was like great. Great. [ light laughter ] jimmy josh evans on the trumpet on the trumpet, yeah. That actually sounds the same there. [ laughter ] the sax and the trumpet. Jimmy they switched horns at one point. [ light laughter ] okay, okay. Jimmy and then, Nasheet Waits on drums . Yeah. Jimmy do you know, quest, this dude jeff tain watts birthday is today, too. Questlove i know, i know. We did the standard of tonight, i think. Questlove yeah. Jimmy i know. I want to see that too. [ laughter ] theres so many great jazz now. Do you have a favorite jazz place you go to . I have jimmy you dont want to get involved with that. [ light laughter ] but what are there . Theres jazz standard, theres village vanguards where i was last night, theres blue notes. Jimmy theyre all good. Vanguard. Jimmy smalls, meridian. Theres so many. Go check out a jazz club. Its like unbelievable. You know, i almost i had to, like, bite my tongue last night. Because there were so many time ice just wanted to, like, whew [ laughter ] whew you know . But you gotta be polite. No, christian liked that. Jimmy no i got backstage, i talked to him and he goes, why did you do that . Yeah, i know. Jimmy he goes, i like when the audience is like lively and clapping. He is, hes like that. Jimmy i didnt want everyone to stare at me, like i know. Jimmy this is a library do they also seat you close to the front . Jimmy no, i then your tables wet, you know, and its not great. Jimmy no i was on the way back they think theyre doing you a huge favor, you know, seat you up close to the front and theres lights all around you. Jimmy right, under the no, it was perfect. They took care of me. It was so great. Right. Jimmy we got in. But i wanted more, i wanted more of it and i was just amazed how they took its a great club, and the acoustics are amazing. The acoustics in that club are so amazing. Its a club that is shaped like a slice of pizza, really. Jimmy oh, yeah it is. And then and funny enough theres a pizza parlor upstairs. [ laughter ] but anyways, its in a basement and the acoustics are just unbelieveable because the stage is right in the sort of point of the pizza slice, and it just goes out like this and it just, the sound is exquisite. Jimmy every single performer up there last night, i was just blown away. I was like, i got to get your email or phone number to call you and i know. I know. Jimmy so i can call you and go, hey, lets go check this out. Ive give you my number before i go. Jimmy well do knicks and jazz. Yeah, well do it up. Jimmy we just had Kevin Delaney out here, how hes a magician, that guy. Science expert, i love that dude, hes just a kid. Hes just i loved science kids when i was a kid. I mean it went through a couple of them, you know, and then at a certain point, you just start mixing everything with everything. Jimmy oh, of course. It almost like when you start learning how to drink, when you get older. [ light laughter ] gin, whisky, yeah, itll taste great together. Dont, wait until youre 21 everybody. So you know, thats a a fallacy. That notion of mixing alcohols. Jimmy yeah, what do you mean . Thats like such thats such an old wives tale. Alcohol is alcohol. I mean, alcohol is alcohol. The content of alcohol people would say, oh, my god, i mixed my drinks last night. Thats why i feel terrible and so on and so forth. Its cause they drank too much. [ laughter ] okay . [ cheers and applause ] jimmy yeah. I guess so. Youre right. Youre right. Jimmy i love when he comes out and i was like, i wonder if you ever had a big science class experiment . Oh, my god, i was so jimmy do you remember . Do you like science . I was so [ light laughter ] i dont know. In high school i had barbara hocks was my biology teacher. Which was only really the only science i have a frame of reference for. You know because it has to do with the birds and bees and, you know, all the rest of that stuff. Jimmy oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, goodlooking chemistry. Now, it wasnt chemistry or jimmy did you have chemistry with anyone i didnt have you know, i [ light laughter ] jimmy oh, wow. Not with her, i meant with another girl. Yeah, anyway. She was very sweet, but the class was at 12 15, and i was exhausted every day at 12 15, because i really so i missed the class a lot. Jimmy why were you exhausted at 12 15 . Well, i realize now that it was probably blood sugar. [ light laughter ] jimmy shut the what . [ laughter ] wait. Would you have a Good Breakfast in the morning . [ laughter ] you wake describe to me as a a kid james spader waking up. You wake up, you got your pjs on. You go does mom wake you up . [ knocking ] james, time for school. Yeah, they had to drag me out of bed. Can i tell you something . I got into the acting thing, it was a night job and now ever since when i was going only films, i would pick films because they had a lot of night shoots. [ light laughter ] like if they i loved because, i really, i am not a a morning person. And when i say not a morning person, i mean til noon. Jimmy yeah. Thats when [ laughter ] thats when thats when the morning ends, is noon. Jimmy wow, thats interesting. And so i really have never and yet, you know my job, to a great degree, i mean, the theater it is a night job, but my job has now become more of a day job, you know . And certainly if you work in television. Its like absolutely a day job. Jimmy yeah, me too, yeah. And so now its Early Morning [ laughter ] jimmy oh, wow. Youre acting like i dont work. I come to work at 11 15 p. M. Every single night [ laughter ] but im here all day. But youre out in time to go to the knicks and the vanguard. [ laughter ] jimmy i have a time machine. I call myself, theres two of me Walking Around new york city. Yeah. Anyway, ive never gotten used to mornings. So mornings, i always seem to have an 8 00 class or Something Like that. Well i was going to at the time i was going to a boarding school, so, you know, 8 00 class, i missed a lot of those. I would go and have breakfast at the cafeteria, but i would, you know, breakfast for me it was often just sort of meeting up with my pals and sort of chatting about this and that. Jimmy yeah, of course. You might get to around to a a little bit of eating. By 12 15 i was exhausted, so i slept through the classes, a a lot of them. And she was so dear, barbara holt, she was so nice. Shed let me make up stuff and you know make up tests and things like, she was very dear and i was always very, very sweet with adults and i was sort of a nerdy [ bleep ]. I was always very sweet with adults and, you know, very respectful and so on and so forth, but i would miss the class. Jimmy yeah, and they were just cool with it because theyd go, oh, its just james, were buddies with james. Well, yeah, yeah, no, and i was you know, i would show up, id make an effort to find her, you know, and apologize. I really want to make it up and so on and so forth. And it wasnt disingenuous. I really i felt remorse of a a sort. But [ laughter ] but in any case. Jimmy you were a nice guy, you were very polite. Right. Jimmy yeah. Except missing classes, yeah. Except for the missing of the classes. Right. And then i would, so a lot of the classes that i would go to, i slept through them. Jimmy yeah. But she i, all of a a sudden i got, like, a a termend report, and it [ laughter ] it said, james has slept through a majority of the classes this term. But were thankful for that considering his behavior when hes awake. [ laughter and applause ] jimmy thats fantastic yeah. I could talk to you for 100 hours you know i love having you on. But we have to talk about the blacklist. Whats happening this season, whats going on with your character . Hes in a hes like driving fast right towards a a cliff, it feels like. Jimmy yeah, hes, hes hes in a really strange place. Jimmy yeah. Very isolated. Really, its a very strange place. I dont know if you watch the show, but [ cheers and applause ] jimmy yeah, of course. Everybodys watching its movie, but what you do is the production value. I gotta tell you something really, truly. You know, please, we can only count on you. Thank goodness youre all here. [ laughter ] we really can so just know that its i think february 2nd, 10 00 p. M. On thursday night, we can only count on you. Cause today, you know, its inauguration. So, you know, half the country is depressed and has been, you know, wanting the day to end and is already gone to sleep. And the other half of the country has been celebrating since noon so they are all [ bleep ] faced. [ laughter ] so please jimmy tell each other that february 2nd, yeah. Spread the word. We are counting on you jimmy yeah. [ cheers and applause ] i want to show a clip. Heres james spader in the blacklist. Take a look at this, everybody. Its funny. For the longest time ive been perfectly comfortable knowing i could die at any moment. I could walk out of this room and be shot in the street and ive always been fine with that. But finally i can smell it in the air around me. Like death and slodging towards me from the corners of the room. And i cannot tell if its here for me. Just an echo of the past. [ cheers and applause ] jimmy it is good. I love you james spader, everybody from blacklist. Airs thursday, 10 00 p. M. , nbc. Big sean joins us next, stick around, everybody, james spader. [ cheers and applause ] dont look now but chuck norris is right behind you. I heard superheroes read chuck norris comics. I heard at night, the boogeyman checks under the bed for chuck. I heard cats say they have chucklike reflexes. Do you think hes still got it . I bet you a buck he catches this salt shaker. Youre on hey chuck you owe me a buck. His latest album i decided hits stores february 3rd and this weekend hes the musical guest on saturday night live with host aziz ansari. Give it up for big sean [ cheers and applause ] jimmy always good to see you, man. Yeah, great great seeing you. Jimmy thank you so much for being here. Thanks for having me. Happy birthday, questlove. Jimmy absolutely. [ cheers and applause ] we always love having you here. Yeah. Youve been here a bunch of times on our show. I think even back in in late night maybe do you remember the first time you were here . 2011. Jimmy yeah. Yeah, and i was playing with the roots. And first of all, thats a a dream come true, and its tight that you do that for artists, because i think every artist is like, to have the roots as their band. You know, thats like a goal. So, i had that for one night. But i remember, 2011, in between the commercial breaks i was playing like songs off my first album. That was my first album drop, so that was such a big moment for me. And then to come and then i you invited me back again to perform later that year, so. Jimmy of course. Its just great times. Jimmy this is fantastic. And now here you are on saturday night live. Yes. [ cheers and applause ] jimmy im so happy for you. We love you. [ applause ] thank you. Its major. Jimmy have you been to snl before . Ive been to snl, but this is my first time being the musical guest. I remember going back there with kanye, cause im signed to kanye. So, in 2010 he was performing there. Jimmy yeah. So i just remember nobody obviously, nobody knew who i was. This was before i put my album out, but i just remember looking around, and equating saturday night live with a a certain level of success. You know what im saying . Jimmy of course. Kanye, obviously, not just a a mentor, but hes also my favorite artist. You know . So, you could just imagine what that feels like, to come back and its like, okay. I made it to snl on my own. You know . [ cheers and applause ] jimmy is your mom here . Yeah, shes back there. Yeah. Jimmy your your moms going to be here this weekend . Watching the show . Shes watching it right now. Jimmy thats so cool. Hi, mom yeah, thats awesome. You are you are funny. Jimmy no [ light laughter ] you are funny, you are funny. Jimmy hey, i always make you do this this story. But people dont know the story about how you met kanye. I think its a great story. And you probably this will be the last time you have to tell it. I promise. All right, uh. Jimmy please, please, i love it. Its its a good story. No, its like the rap fairy tale. So, basically [ light laughter ] im from detroit, so i used to do a radio show in detroit. Shout out to the d [ cheers and applause ] i used to do a radio show every friday, at the Radio Station where emcees would battle each other, and then whoever would win that, would get to rap on air. So, i did that every day after school. My mom would be like, come home just come straight home, and i would still go there. You know . Jimmy cause you had to do it. I had to do it so bad. What that did, was that taught me that built a relationship for me at the Radio Station, and taught me how to rap under pressure. So one day kanye was somebodys calling me. [ laughter ] jimmy you forgot to turn your ringer off. Anyway hold on a second. Jimmy wait a second. Are you going to get it . No. Im not going to get it. Its okay. They can keep calling. So anyway, kanye jimmy but if its kanye, he can just tell the story himself. [ laughter ] exactly. Exactly. So, anyway to finish the story, so kanye was there, doing radio promotion one day, and i since i had connections at the Radio Station, i was able to get in. It was the day after the cipher, on a saturday. I lied and said i left my cell phone in the back. You know, so i jimmy we all know if you keep it in your pants. Yeah, i know. [ laughter ] so i so i finessed my way back there and i got a chance to rap for kanye as he was walking out man like jimmy how did you just do that though . You just go and just start rapping . [ light laughter ] well, yeah and he at first, you know, he was he was in a rush. He was running late somewhere. But then i like gave him this super guilt trip. I was like, man, i listen to College Dropout on the way to school. Its my favorite album. He was like, okay. [ light laughter ] you know, he gave me 16 bars. Hes a great guy. Jimmy yeah. Anybody yeah, so he gave he said you have 16 bars. I ended up rapping for like ten minutes straight. And he just he ended up he saw the potential and, you know, it took a couple years after that, but that was the initial Meeting Point and two years later i was signed to him. So, amazing. [ cheers and applause ] jimmy and now here you are. February 3rd, is the new album right . February 3rd is the new album. Im excited. Jimmy i love i love the cover. Now, explain to me the cover, cause i see the cover, this is like this is you, and this is your neighbor . Yeah. Jimmy and hes like no. So actually, whats what i love about this album jimmy what are you doing up this late . [ laughter ] like, im looking at the lights. Like, oh, me too. Well, actually, so im going to explain it to you. So the the concept of the album, this is me and this is the older version of me. And its parallel right there, with each other. But the name of the album is called i decided. I realized my whole life changed when i decided, i feel life is about making the right decisions at any any point. Or the wrong decisions. So imagine, the story of the album is imagine you going through life, and you made all the wrong decisions your whole life. You get to the end of your life, and you know, youre at a a moment, where its like, god, i did everything wrong. I didnt work it out with the love of my life. I messed it up with my parents. Im not doing the job i i was sent here to do on earth. So, then imagine something happens and you get one chance to redo it all. So the the album is basically a chance of, like, having that wisdom of a old man while youre young, and going through life and figuring it out. So, yeah. [ cheers and applause ] big sean. [ cheers and applause ] check him out on saturday night live, this weekend pick up a copy of i decided, available everywhere, february 3rd preorder it get it right now.
